I know there is a sequence for the Nspire that will perform a hard
reset, though I can't remember it or find it on TI's site. Help?

First turn off the unit and remove all batteries; then re-install them and

a) On the clickpad version press Home+Enter+P and On all at the same time.
b) on the touchpad version press Doc+EE+Enter and On all at the same time.

Make sure On is the last key of the combination you press. Hold all keys pressed  until the maintenance menu appears. Then select the reset option.

Remark:
It's not usually necessary to do a full reset. You can just delete the operating system while keeping your documents. Then re-install the operating system and that should do the trick.
Rebooting (option 1) does nothing except reboot and therefore leave the maintenance menu.

Cheers,
Nelson

If you've got a TI-Nspire TouchPad with the rechargeable battery, you will need to remove it too, in addition to the standard batteries.

This is in order to make the calculator reboot.

There are other ways:
* change the keypad (if possible)
* press the reset button on the back of the calculator (on 2.X OSes, it won't delete your files any more)

Just choose the easiest way for you.
