Thanks Harshal and others. The images make this tns file bigger than most.

I'll test it out tomorrow in classes where I have many of my students giving little presentations about the math and science of their favorite Olympic events.

(I cleaned some things up and made the pommel axes better reflect Stephen Nedoroscik's height and added some sliders.)

Enjoy,

Sean,

Thank you for sharing the TNS files with this group.

And I would love to see what your students have done connecting math & science to the Olympics.

(My family couldn’t understand why I was excited watching the javelin throw when the show the vector of the throw. What a fun nod to math! :)

Regards,

- Harshal

YES! I was so "nerding out" with the instantaneous velocity of the javelin as well!

The file was a hit in my physics and calculus classes. In calculus we even talked about the slope from the left and the right of the absolute value function to make the connection that the function is not differentiable at that point.

Here are some links to students' presentations: Swimming, handball, basketball (see attached tns file), skateboarding
We were keeping it simple since it is the beginning of the school year, but they had a good time.
