Hi,
Since updating to 2.0, my computer won't start the computer link
software...I'm getting the message " the computer link software won't
start because the connectivity library has not started, please try
again" I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried repair, modify, you name
it. Any one know what is going on? I've got ti-nspire navigator, cas
TE, and connect to class on the computer. It is a 32 bit, Vista home
premium service pak 2 on my computer.
Thanks,
Sheila

I know that it is nice to have all of your programs working, but given the new teachers edition has the computer link software in it, do you really need computer link?

What she is trying to say is that the new TI-Nspire Computer Software
v2.0 allows you to transfer files without having you to use the TI-
Nspire Computer Link software.

Okay, So I'm hearing that I should forget about computer link
software...I can do that but now when I open the te software I'm
getting the message about the "ti-nspire software not being able to
communicate with the connected handhelds because the connectivity
library will not start. In order to communicate with the handhelds,
try running this application again." What is this?
And thank you in advance for your words of wisdom and experience.

Do they both (the handhelds and the TE) have the latest OS?

The Nspire software requires the computer link to be installed even though you don't need to use it and may use the TE software instead to transfer files.

I don't know why it's working but maybe an older version of a library file was left unchanged when you installed. Make sure you installed the 1.4 version of the computer link (required since OS 2.0) and if uninstalling and installing again doesn't work ask TI customer support to help you to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the computer link software.

Cheers,
Nelson

I had this happen yesterday in an entire lab:

Close the TE software, connect a hh to the computer to install device
drivers, then re-run the TE software. This seemed to fix the problem.
