There are 1119 topics in this google group...I gave up after the first
150.

More than one of my students have indicated a problem with the Nspire
suddenly turning off while they are working on a problem. When it
"reboots" they have lost all their work. Since we've been doing
various regressions with spreadsheets, scatterplots, residual plots,
etc., this is particularly irksome. We all have the new operating
system and students have their own personal calculators.

Any suggestions?? Any solutions??

I am most grateful in advance for your wisdom!!

Guess just like a computer- save early and often. However I have never
had this problem. Could it be batteries are low??

Also worth checking you have upgraded to the latest version as there were a couple of minor bugs on the original 2.0 release that caused the handhelds to restart.  But off the top of my head I can't remember what the scenario was...

w00t ??
Don't think that OS 2.1 is better than OS 2.0. If some bugs were fixed, others and others cames related to Hardware problems.

A couple of my students (about 6 out of approximately 100) had the
same problem.
We send those Nspire back to TI and they replaced them. Unfortunately
TI never
told me what the problem was.

Hmm...they are over a year old, so I don't think that will be an
option.
I just had the students upgrade to the new OS this fall...
One of those "bugs" I guess....
Thank you!!

Have you called 1-800-TI-CARES? They have been able to solve every problem I have had over the years.

I had a problem with my CAS shutting off if I laid it in the desk too
hard. I discovered that the batteries were not making good contact,
and would shutoff with a fairly gentle tap. Just roll them around a
bit to make better contact and the problem seems to clear.
