Is there a command that will calculate the magnitude of a vector v?
In Mathcad I can just create a three element vector v and then take
its absolute value |v| to get the magnitude.
I cannot do this on the TI-Nspire with the abs(v) function.

on Nspire you should use norm(vector). It will compute the 2-norm; if
you want the 1-norm or infinity-norm use rownorm or colnorm instead.
