TI-Nspire vs matlab

My grad instructor wants us to purchase matlab for her course this
semester. Should I be able to do what I might need on the TI-Nspire
CAS, or do I need to buy matlab?

There are a lot of stuff that Matlab does and TI-Nspire CAS doesn't.
If your teacher is telling you to use Matlab you should probably
follow that.
