Hello, thanks for the people (esp. Sean) who helped me with the
explicit drawing last time, here I come with few more questions.. hope
someone can shine some light on them :)

1. when I was messing with the error function (http://en.wikipedia.org/
wiki/Error_function), I got some wrong result, for example, erf(200)
equals 1.00000007 but erf(800) equals 0.9999999 (I defined erf()
myself), error function should never exceed 1, and it increases as the
number goes up, so the erf(200) < erf(800) is totally incorrect, and
erf(200)>1 is also mathematically incorrect, is there a reason to
this? Some inherent calculation limit/error by this calculator?

2. I used "Define" as well as "Program Editor-->New" to define some of
my own function, and I chose the library access to "LibPub(Show in
Catalog)", but it still does NOT show in the catalog. and that
function is only active in the document that I defined it in, i.e.
doesn't work in scratchpad or other documents, did I miss something?

3. One of the most used feature of TI-89 is the solve() function, in
my 89 we used it by pressing F2->Enter, so it's two key strokes. With
the Nspire, seems to me the quickest way is Menu->3->1, which is
three key strokes. Is there a way to define some shortcut hotkeys to
make this (or some other functions) easier?

Many thanks!

I'll give you something for 2 & 3.
3. No hot keys. Sounds like a nice idea.

2. Refresh the library. For an example of this see  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPCedUZgRvU
To refresh the library, press Doc, or when you are in the My Documents, press menu.

Actually the lack of shortcut for solve() provides only a mild annoyance compared to the trig and pi palette shortcut that doesn't require pressing "enter". The shortcut was introduced in OS 2.x but later deleted in 3.x without a convincing reason.

Interesting I didn't know PREVIOUS version had shortcuts.... is there
a place we can voice this to the TI development team? Really wish
they can bring back the customizable shortcuts!

Sorry if I didn't state it clearly. Unfortunately, the solve ( ) has never had a shortcut that requires less than three key presses. But certain shortcuts, like the trig palette one that I mentioned, WERE once there but not anymore in OS 3.x. I have written to TI and neither can they provide a valid reason.

You can send your suggestions to TI Cares, and I strongly encourage you to do so.
But please don't expect a speedy update. That's just not TI's style.

Best,

Jim
