error: resource exhaustion

I use the tinspire to do some stats by way of a list and spreadsheets
page. I transfer data from excel to tns format. Normally, (that is
till now) all is well. But now I get the error message: resource
exhaustion. I assume that this means the data set is too large? On the
computer software this isn't a problem. The data set is 1300 rows by 4
columns. Is this too large for the handheld? If so, then what is the
maximum size of such a data set to work happily on the handheld?

Thanks in advance,
Geoff.

Quite probably is the size of the dataset, yes.

The tns document will be huge because of the number of cells and the calculations are probably taking up too much memory.

Hmm...  I don't know I just did a test of a file made up of 4 columns (each with 1500 entries) of random numbers created in excel then copied as values into a TNS file and opened on my calculator.  It opened fine and allowed me to graph etc the points, although the handheld did become a little slow to respond initially (but still usable) it seemed to speed up after about 30seconds...

Can you post the data set, and I'll check on mine...

Cheers
Andy

In fact it coped fine with multiplying two of these columns together (took about 10secs) and then plotted this on a D&S page and calculated a regression line for these fine as well...  It is certainly slower when dealing with large data sets but based on my testing it seemed to work acceptably...

Andy,

The data is 1.1, you can see what I tried to do in 1.2, and since that
didn't work I tried in again in a calc page and that didn't work
either.

Geoff.

hhmmm, how do I attach a document in this reply?

Are you doing it by email (in which case same as usual)... If you are doing it on the website use the "Attach a File" linkSnapz Pro XScreenSnapz005.jpg

Just to confirm this overflow issue with large datasets seems to be fixed in 3.0, I tried Geoff's file and it works fine on a handheld running 3.0

Cheers
