Can the Nspire CAS do a chi square test and is it a probability test?
Also, when does sample size cease to mean something? These are two
questions that someone asked me and I said I would pose them on this
group discussion page. Any help?

Yes it can do a chi square test of independence. Create a matrix with the data, give the matrix a name and then run the test on it using the name.

I was introducing the Nspire to some pre-service teachers last night. After I showed them how use the math templates, someone exclaimed 'I just did a chi square test.'

You should have seen their excitement over UNDO.

That's a two way test (contingency table).

The Nspire can also do a simpler one-way test, in which the observed
frequencies would all occupy just one row of that matrix:

In either Calculator or Spreadsheet document, create two lists, one
for the observed values and one for the expected values. Then use
Chisq GOF under the Stat Tests menu.

With either method, the calculator computes the P-value.
