Hi from a new member,

I am testing a recently purchased TI Nspire CAS, having used the TI 89
Titanium routinely in my teaching activities for a number of years.
I'd like for the experts here to comment on a small issue I have
encountered with the calculator.

On page 32 of the TI Nspire CAS Reference guide, there is a
description of entering a multi-line function directly from the
keyboard without using the program editor. The user is directed to
press the "right-angled" arrow key at the bottom right of the keyboard
after each line of the function. This feature does not work on my
Nspire CAS, OS version 1.6, unless I am missing something obvious. Nor
does the corresponding feature, ALT+ENTER, work in the Nspire Teacher
Edition, version 1.6. Has this feature been disabled, am I missing
something that you can tell me about or is my Nspire not working
properly? If the feature has been disabled, it seems like quite poor
practice on the part of TI not to inform users about the change.

Thanks,
Wayne

To get the 'grey enter' key to work as described you need to be editing the
function, not entering it for the first time. Here's how to make it work:

On a new line type
Define f()=Func:EndFunc
And press enter.

Now go up to this entry and press enter to edit it. Now the 'grey enter'
button should work as described in the guide.

f() in my example should be replaced with the name of your function and
should include the parameters for your function.

John,
Thank you. Now I've got it.
