Hi All!
Apparently I've been living under a rock these last 24 years maintaining a Linux Lab. I've only recently been forced to work in a Windows Shop. So, forgive me if this is a silly question.

I'm trying to settle on a PC emulator. I used to use KarmTI with a windows emulator on Linux. So I thought I could use it in my new Windows Classroom. However, it's not working.

So I've been searching for other FOSS solutions, but no joy. So, I'm wondering if I should try the TI software that came with my class set if calculators from donorschoose. These all day Student Edition. Should I use that or get the Teacher Edition. Hiw are they different?

TIA,
A. Jorge Garcia

Oops, let me fix a few typos:

So I've been searching for other FOSS solutions such as Firebird, but no joy. So, I'm wondering if I should try the TI software that came with my class set of calculators from donorschoose. These all say Student Edition. Should I use that or get the Teacher Edition. How are they different?
TIA,
AJG

The teacher software has the ability to add questions to a document. This gives a good description of the differences: http://www.dummies.com/education/graphing-calculators/ti-nspire-student-software-versus-ti-nspire-teacher-software/

Thanx for the info! The student edition should be fine for my purposes (demos on smartboard and for screencasts on youtube). Have a look at my AP Calculus BC screencasts if you like, http://www.youtube.com/calcpage2009
Thanx,
AJG
