Input symbols on cx II-t

Looks like I can’t access the symbol palette when asking for input in python on the cx-II-t.
Using :   String= input(“enter string”)
Can anyone confirm this ? Also in the US models ?
In TI-Basic it’s no problem.

Ditto here: the [punct] key  is disabled in the emulator software and the handheld in Python. I can type a colon (:) using my computer keyboard, but not using the on-screen emulator or on the handheld.

 

No problem on CE Python.
