If you have TI-Computer Link software on your computer (free download), then
essentially you need to send a file called Exit Test Mode to the folder Press-to-Test.

This kind of thing is described on a Knowledge Base site.

I certainly do not want to spread incorrect information, but there
isn't a new requirement for TI-Nspires (or 84s for that matter) to be
in Press-to-Test Mode on College Board assessments, is there? I have
never read before that Press-to-Test is required on the list of
allowable calculators.

I was just curious as to why you would put TI-Nspire in this mode for
the SAT if it is not required.

I agree. College Board assessments do not require any clearing of the calculator. Their exams are carefully constructed. For example on their AP exam there is a calculator active and calculator not permitted section. The TI-Nspire and TI-Nspire CAS has been permitted on College Board tests (PSAT, SAT, AP) since 2007.

That is correct. Calculator memories are not cleared. The test is written
So that those with a CAS do not have advantage over other students. I am a consultant for the college board.

Is there any way to do this using Connect-to-Class or its equivalent
in the new 2.0 operating system of the TE Computer Software? I need to
switch out quickly from class to class. Just asking students to "set
the handheld to a new blank document" is not good enough. This does
NOT clear the Scratchpad at all. I use my classroom set of Nspire
handhelds for testing (no personal Nspires allowed on tests). So, I
need a quick way to go from class to class with a "clean slate", so to
speak.

Thanks!
Sue

Sue,

I just tested clearing the documents with C2C. C2C has an options to
delete all files and folders before sending new files with the
transfer tool.
But it does NOT delete the data in the Scratchpad. (I use a recent
version of C2C and 2.0.0.1188 of OS)

Kind regards, Gert

You can use C2C or Navigator to exit P2T, but at present students would need to put it into that mode themselves at the start of the lesson...  And if they are smart do it before the lesson and then retype notes etc...  but as the LED would be flashing you may not notice...

Instructions on how to exit P2T with C@C or Nav can be found by searching on this group.

And OS 2.0.1.60 deals the same with the scratchpad.
