Yourphoto is a vital part of your visa application. To learn more, review the information below on how to provide a suitable photo. Digital images are required for some visa categories, while photos are required for other visa categories. The acceptance of your digital image or photo is at the discretion of the U.S. embassy or consulate where you apply.

If you are applying for a nonimmigrant visa by filling out the DS-160 or DS-1648 online form, the form will instruct you to upload your digital image as part of completing the online visa application form. Review the Digital Image Requirements, which also provide additional requirements if you are scanning an existing photo.

Some embassies and consulates require visa applicants to bring one (1) photo, which meets requirements, to the interview. Review the embassy or consulate instructions where you will apply to learn more.

While we recommend you use a professional visa photo service to ensure your photo meets all the requirements, you may take the photo yourself. Photos must not be digitally enhanced or altered to change your appearance in any way. Please review the following technical requirements and references for guidance on taking your own photo.

Lay your baby on his or her back on a plain white or off-white sheet. This will ensure your baby's head is supported and provide a plain background for the photo. Make certain there are no shadows on your baby's face, especially if you take a picture from above with the baby lying down.

If your photo(s) or digital image does not reflect your current appearance, even if it is not older than 6 months, the U.S. embassy or consulate will request that you provide a new photo with your application.

Generally, if you can still be identified from the photo in your visa application, you will not need to submit a new photo. For example, growing a beard or coloring your hair would not generally be considered a significant change of appearance.

If the appearance of your child under the age of 16 has changed due to the normal aging process, he or she will generally not have to provide a new photo. However, the acceptance of your photo or digital image is at the discretion of the U.S. embassy or consulate where you apply.

If you use Photoshop, you can create your image at 480 x 265, then change the canvas size (Alt+Ctrl+C) to 600 x 331 while anchored at the top centre. Just make your background cover the whole thing in case I'm off by a few pixels and that'll look great when you upload.

It's not down to the pixel, but I'm not spending any more time on mine. I already wasted over 1-2 hours resizing my image and all its elements over and over and over trying to make it look right. I can't understand how anyone designed this to be so strange. PayPal, fix this.

@JadeCandy1 totally got me on the right track, and I suppose the difference I've experienced might be due to differing screen resolutions, or possibly PayPal changed something since this thread started.

When I followed their lead my header had awful resolution, and the top was still too cut off. What I did was exactly as @JadeCandy1 JadeCandy1 instructed, except I increased the sizes by 200%, and left the graphic centred, rather than aligning it to the top. Looks perfect now.

@HeadsquirrelsThat's so strange how it's working. It doesn't make any sense. Sorry my way couldn't be any help. I wonder if PayPal changed it. I remember testing it out by resizing my window to all different sizes to make sure it would look good on my customer's screens too no matter their setups, so I don't think that would be it. Bizarre!

I took a screen shot of the background ( I was struggling to make in AI), saved it as a photo and then uploaded it. It worked perfectly. Before this, I tried resizing all different ways with illustrator and it would not work. Go figure, It says upload "photo"

took me a half hour to realize they built it for mobile. upload from paypal app on your phone. login with your paypal.me account, tap @yourprofile, then edit your paypal.me link there. worked first time.

@BohemianFindings, it may not always be possible to remedy the image size differential within the Klaviyo editor. Therefore, your best bet is to re-size and re-upload the images to uniform sizes in Shopify so we can pull in uniform images sizes into the Klaviyo product block.

This menu is only available in Affinity Designer and Photo, not Publisher which is the app you are probably using.

Note that if you have Affinity Photo or Designer installed and can access its personas in Publisher you can create new documents from clipboard data in these personas from the File menu...

Most of the time New from clipboard generates a raster document from a bitmap on the clipboard. Since it's not Publisher's aim to make raster documents generally, this option in not available directly in Publisher by design.

The image originated in PShop, imported into InDesign. It was then scaled down in InDes to 4-1/4in wide. It started out in PShop at 300dpi. I copied it then out of InDes and into Aff. Photo via the New from Clipboard command, where it became a different size = 3-1/4in. wide. It was 300dpi when it originally left PShop and remained 300dpi when pasted into Aff.Photo... Is this a no-no?

Welcome to the Image Sizing Guide, this guide is split up by what users can access certain image uploaders. Please be aware that many images are responsive to the screen so it is difficult to provide exact sizing, the below information is simply a starting point.

Event Photo is a nice photo or background image representing your event. It will be displayed in the upcoming events slider on the home page, on the right of your event page, and in the mobile app. This is a great way to promote your event.

Your Flyer is the key information about your event displayed in a visual way. We will display your flyer to people who mouse over your event in the calendar, in email invitations, and in the event details section of your event page.

The app header logo will be resized down to fit a height of 100 pixels and the width will resize automatically. It is best to use a logo with a 5:1 aspect ratio, this allows for the most visibility and clarity of your logo. Keep these logos simple and transparent to contrast the background.

Email images will automatically resize to fit their space. You have complete freedom to create whatever you would like in these spaces. There is not one recommended size for these, feel free to use whatever images you have, it should work to accommodate most images and sizes.

For both options, the width really doesn't need to be much larger than the recommended minimum, however, I wouldn't go much smaller either. For the Height of each option, this is what it most flexible. The image uploaders will resize the images to fit the width of the space so the image aspect ratio will be preserved.

The virtual fairs booth's main photo follows the same aspect ratio rules as our event photos. Please keep text and other important information such as logos in the center of the image as this could be cropped undesirably in the booth view, for the best results use an image that does not contain text content.

As a general rule of thumb images over 1920px are not necessary for the platform, standard web sizes and graphics are just fine. This will help increase load times and to preserve the best quality on your platform.

I am having trouble finding what size I need to make my image in order to fit correctly in the cover image photo area of my story map. I can find info on what size the image needs to be when inserted into the story map but I can't seem to find anything on the cover image. Below is a link to the story map I am referring to.

it's going to stretch to fill the space of whatever your visitor is viewing the storymap on so I would suggest not using text in your image as it will most likely be cut off on someone's viewing device/resolution regardless. Instead put the text in the title text box image, like I've done on this Story Map:

@AshleighReeves -- There isn't one specific size for cover images because the way your image is presented depends on the size and aspect ratio of your reader's web browser window. Depending on the reader's setup more or less of your image may be cropped out.

It's not a best practice to have title text in your cover image. The recommended way to build a cover is to use one of the cover layouts and use a photograph rather than an image with your title/subtitle text. Have you tried the FULL cover option that overlays text over an image?

If you do want to go with something like your current treatment, you'll need to make sure the text in your cover image is nowhere near the edges of the image so that when your story gets viewed on different devices and different sized browser windows the text in the image is never cropped out. Be sure to use Preview mode to test out what your story will look like on different devices and screen sizes. Also, make sure you enter the title, subtitle, and thumbnail for your story in the Share card tab in story settings or else people will see blank information when your story is shared on social media sites.
