Hi,

Can we search for users without the user's full name?

Think of it this way:

We have 5 users. Their names are Bob, Alice, Xena, Carol, Dave. When I searched the user by pressing 'c' no one appeared on the list. I was waiting for Alice and Carol to appear.

I don't understand the question. Search is done over tags. Only what you add to users' tags is going to be found in search.

Think of it this way:

The search currently works over tags, specifically the sandbox server has search over users' logins which are automatically added to tags. When you enter search string [alice] on the client it's converted on the server into [alice AND basic:alice] and that is used to find users with such tags. The search works by full match only. It's designed in such a way because partial matching is not useable when you have thousands of users.

If you want to search by partial match then you have to implement a search plugin:
