Hi,

I like to use numbered markers to seek specific locations in my codes, with the keyboard shortcuts from Get/Set Markers, e.g. CTRL+1.
But I've noticed that I cannot use number 9 nor 10, because it does not behave correctly. Instead of going to the marker with that number, it inserts a pair of parentheses "()". I suspect a misinterpretation of keyboard events in the Delphi code, with mixes up between CTRL+9 (or CTRL+0) and the parentheses "(" or ")".

If you can fix this little issue, it would be great, as we will be able to use 10 markers (0-9) instead of only eight (1-8).

Thanks!

   Marc.

Hello Marc,

In fact both are very old resource to enhace the usability of the editor:
Ctrl + ( -> insert (|)
Ctrl + ) -> insert ()|

| ís the position of the cursor.
The problem is:
- Ctrl + ( has the same button that Ctrl+9
- Ctrl + ) has the same button that Ctrl+0

It was prior to autocompletion resource, we believe that can be
removed without prejudice usability.

Thanks for pointing it out.

Best,

It was removed the old implementation (restrictions) associated to use
of marks 0 and 9:
To set a mark: SHIFT+CTRL+0 and SHIFT+CTRL+9
To go to a mark: CTRL+0 and CTRL+9

But, to use SHIFT+CTRL+0 (to mark 0) it will be necessary to change a
default setting of Windows OS:

From :https://groups.google.com/d/msg/leo-editor/XqAQ48gE40Y/Yfri36maDwAJ
For Windows 10, do the following (it may be a bit different for Windows 8):

1. In the control panel, click Language.
This brings up the "Language" panel.

2. Choose "Advanced Settings" in the left area.
This brings up the "Advanced Settings" panel.

3. Choose "Change language bar hot keys" in the left area.
This brings up the "Text Services & Input Language" panel.

4. You will see Shift-Ctrl-0 as the binding for "Between input languages".
Select that item and click the "Change Key Sequence" button.
This brings up the "Change Key Sequence" panel.

5. Set both radio buttons to "Not Assigned" and click OK.

Best,

Nice, very nice!
I did not know there were such strange language-related shortcuts in Windows. In fact, they are "not assigned" on my own computers. Anyway... Thanks for solving that small issue, and also for pointing out the customization of Windows that several other Tinn-R & Windows users will have to apply before fully enjoying the marks 0 and 9!

Besides, I'm glad to see you're still very active in Tinn-R development despite the beginning of the academic year.
Ciao.
