Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled ServiceNow Developer with proven experience in platform modernization to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in migrating legacy systems and applications to the ServiceNow platform, redesigning and optimizing existing ServiceNow implementations, and driving digital transformation initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders to modernize IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Customer Service Management (CSM), and custom applications on the Now Platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions using best practices (Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Service Portal, UI Builder, Next Experience, etc.).
• Lead modernization initiatives, including:
• Migration from legacy ITSM tools (e.g., Remedy, Service Desk, custom scripts) to ServiceNow.
• Application modernization – moving from custom-built or outdated ServiceNow apps to Vancouver/Washington DC/Xanadu release capabilities.
• Legacy data migration, process re-engineering, and technical debt reduction.
• Develop and customize applications, modules, and integrations using JavaScript, Glide API, REST/SOAP, MID Server, and Integration Hub.
• Build scalable solutions using ATF (Automated Test Framework), Performance Analytics, and advanced reporting.
• Upgrade and refactor existing ServiceNow instances to latest releases while ensuring minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and product owners to translate modernization requirements into technical designs.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with ServiceNow best practices and ITIL frameworks.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) is mandatory.
• Additional certifications: ITSM, ITOM, or CSA (Certified System Administrator) – preferred.
• 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
• Strong modernization experience (at least 2+ years):
• Successful migration projects from legacy platforms to ServiceNow.
• Experience with Instance Upgrades, Application Migration, and Platform Modernization programs.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow Now Platform architecture (Vancouver / Washington DC releases).
• Proficiency in:
• Server-side & Client-side scripting (JavaScript, Jelly, Angular/React for portals).
• Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, Client Scripts.
• REST APIs, Web Services, Integration Hub spokes.
• Service Portal / Next Experience UI development.
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes and ServiceNow modules (ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, HRSD, etc.).
• Experience with data migration tools (Import Sets, Transform Maps, Data Loaders) and handling large-scale data modernization.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with ServiceNow Vancouver/Washington DC features (AI Search, Virtual Agent enhancements, Next Experience UI).
• Cloud integration experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) with ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices on ServiceNow (CI/CD with Git, Jenkins, or ServiceNow DevOps).
• Exposure to low-code/no-code modernization strategies.
• Familiarity with SAFe / Agile methodologies.
• Experience in industries like Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or IT Services.
