Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV[a] is a 2016 Japanese animated fantasy film directed by Takeshi Nozue and scripted by Takashi Hasegawa from a story by Kazushige Nojima and Saori Itamuro. Developed primarily by Square Enix's exclusive CGI studio Visual Works, Kingsglaive is based on the setting and story of the video game Final Fantasy XV, which is thematically connected to the Fabula Nova Crystallis subseries. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV was released theatrically in July 2016 in Japan by Aniplex, and received a limited theatrical run in August in North America by Stage 6 Films. Digital and physical home video versions were released three months later in October, and the film was bundled with different editions of Final Fantasy XV alongside Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV.

The hype around the in-game car, called the Regalia, escalated further when it was revealed that the vehicle could turn into an airship. It's pretty clear that Noctis and friends will be spending a large amount of time either driving or flying around in the Regalia in Final Fantasy XV, so it would only make sense for Square Enix to give the characters some sweet tunes to listen to along the way. Square Enix recently confirmed that the Regalia's in-game radio will be able to play a wide selection of classic songs from other Final Fantasy games.
That's a pretty impressive list, right? Final Fantasy has always been known for its high-quality music and it looks like Final Fantasy XV will be no exception. Square Enix seems to have smartly focused on including all of the fan favorites from over the years, including One-Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII and Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy VI. It's also worth noting that while this list is heavy with nostalgia, there are also plenty of brand new songs being introduced as well. The track list includes six songs designed specifically as "drive music" for the game and will also include songs from the Kingsglaive movie and Justice Monsters Five, the mini-game within the game.
Even before the film released, I looped and set a specific scene in a trailer on repeat where Luna and Regis have been reunited after twelve years, and the song plays for a minute in the background. I'd even go far enough to say that it's the best Final Fantasy character theme in several years.
