Ihave an old QuickCam Messenger, which gets detected from win10 but not fully recognized, thus the cam is not usable.Under the vendor site -at/articles/360024701614--Downloads-QuickCam-Messengerthe removed all drivers for this model.
Under I found another archive. Internet research showed that is730enu.exe should be the correct driver package. When I decompress the .exe and do a driver search over the folder the device manager could not find a driver. When I select specific .inf files from the folder Windows said the file is not compatible. It is a USB webcam and I think a generic driver should exist, what can I do.
If needed you can download a copy from my Google Drive. I compressed just the driver folder - no other files are needed as you can't run the install executable on Win10 anymore: _IQR-lZmUH228kXKzeeKi5h5/view?usp=sharing
I will try the cam at a later time on Linux. I think vendors should provide a generic driver for such devices (we will see how long the manufactured and directly branded China devices will work under Windows). It would help to save the environment.
I have an old model Logitech Communicate Webcam (image here) and upon returning to the website to get a driver for it, I found that there are several models with slight name variants (none of which look like my webcam).
My answer is to avoid the Logi site revamp. Mine is a QuickCam S5500 I think, I couldnt tell it was so old. If you arent sure roughly for the name of your camera, even if you don't know exact, if you know its a "QuickCam" and its old, google that. Then switch google to pictures tab. I was able to find mine, S5500 I think. Anyway, for drivers files, go here, dont waste your time on their html site:
I am glad that worked. I was worried that the drivers were not "blessed" by microsoft. I have a Casio Title Printer that basically prints names on a CD/DVD and I cannot use it when Windows core protection is enabled. I have to disable memory integrity or the driver will not load.
Hello, I have been having the same problem with my c925e after updating to Windows 11. I've tried installing the LogiTune software, factory resetting the webcam, updating drivers through the control panel, and resetting my computer many times. I have seen that this particular webcam may not work with my Windows 11 type. If you could help me out with this situation it would be greatly appreciated.
Logitech webcams are upgradeable. All you need to do is download the drivers for your webcam model. One of the most popular models is the Logitech C170. It is a compact-wired webcam that can be greatly enhanced with Logitech software for Windows and macOS.
To download the right driver for your Logitech webcam, identify your headset model and make sure the drivers you download are compatible with your operating system. For example, if you need controller drivers for 64-bit Windows 11, look for the version for that model. Next, click the Download button and wait for the download to complete.
You will then need to install the Logitech C170 drivers. In Windows, this can be done through the Control Panel: go to the Device Manager. Then select the wired webcam, choose the option to install the driver and follow the instructions.
Overall, keeping your Logitech C170 driver updated can potentially lead to a slightly smoother video experience, improved microphone performance in rare cases, ensure compatibility with newer software, and resolve bugs that might be affecting functionality.
It doesn't seem to matter if I choose Pin 0 or 1, I still get raw video from the Logitech c930e webcam. On Linux, the supposed command involves v4l2, but this does not appear to exist in the default Windows version of ffmpeg from
I found this interesting article on Logitech's website instructing the user to change the default Logitech driver to the generic USB Video Device driver: _us/article/Install-native-UVC-drivers-for-your-Logitech-webcam?product=a0qi00000069v0MAAQ#
Thanks, I could resolve my problem following the link _us/article/Install-native-UVC-drivers-for-your-Logitech-webcam?product=a0qi00000069v0MAAQ# you provided from Logitech. In my case (I have A C920 webcam, NOT C930e), in a Windows 7 PC it worked ok with Logitech drivers, but failed in a Windows 8.1 computer.
Executing ffmpeg -f dshow -list_options true -i video="Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920" did NOT show any h264 stream. After changing the driver, the camera name lost the Logitech in its name (just "HD Pro Webcam C920"), but now detected the h264 stream and ffmpeg could record it.
I've significantly upgraded things in terms of processing power, RAM, hard drive etc which I wanted for reasons that are not relevant (at least I don't think they are) to this post. The SB3 is running Windows 10 Home whereas the SB2 was on Windows 10 Pro.
Because I sit in front of three screens with the SB plugged into a dock, I don't use the built in camera and have the lid of the SB closed. This has meant that I need to use a webcam for client meetings over Zoom and MS Teams. Last week I found an Logitech webcam that I had had in the cupboard for a number of years and plugged it in to the SB2 (this is before the picked up the SB3). It's a C525 and it plugged in to the dock and worked perfectly with the SB2.
Today I've largely finished installing all the software I want on the SB3 so I can use that and put away the SB2. One issue has cropped up though. The SB3 is telling me there is a Driver Error for the Logitech C525. I've told Windows to update the Driver but it tells me the right driver is installed and no matter what I do, it won't seem to work. I plugged the SB2 back into the dock and the camera again worked fine on it so it's not the camera itself.
I've been on the logitech website and found the setup software and installed it but it keeps telling me I need to plug in a camera for it to work ... even though the camera is plugged in. I've tried different USB ports on the dock and on the SB3 itself. One time it fired up for a bit and told me to restart to finish installing which I did. But when it rebooted, the same errors occurred.
Launch device manager, Right click the Webcam and select "Uninstall Device" then make sure you click "Delete the driver software for this device".
Unplug and plug it back in and it should re-download the latest driver from Windows Update. You shouldn't need anything special for a logitech camera.
Freitasm: SB3 is on version 1909 and the SB2 is on version 1903. I've not idea what inf files are or what you mean by that (IT isn't my background. I can correct a lot of things myself but the really technical stuff is a foreign languare)
michaelmurfy: Where do I find the right driver? I downloaded something from Logitech website called Logitech Camera Settings. Is the driver embedded in there somewhere? How do I get it and tell the SB to use that? Every time I click on Logitech Camera Settings itself it is telling me that no camera is installed.
@RNZALR if you can download the drivers and unpack (if it's a zip file) into a temporary folder you can right-click the device in Device Manager, Update Driver, select "Browse my Computer for Drivers" and select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".
I'm fast coming to the conclusion that I'm going to need to invest in a new webcam. The thing is I'm now nervous that the next one will do it too! Should I steer clear of Logitech or am I being a little too paranoid? Any recommendations on a good webcam with high resolution images etc but not at a ridiculous price as it's just used for zoom meetings as and when they occur would be greatly received.
I went through everything in Device Manager and noticed it was appearing under sound and video game controllers and human imaging devices but not cameras. I deleted the driver software from everywhere then plugged it all back in and it seemed to be OK. It asked me to restart to finish setting up and I did ... then it crashed again! So I repeated the process but didn't do a restart and the camera is working fine. I've since done a restart and things have continued to work. Not sure what has happened and certainly nervous that it'll crash again. But for the time being, it's working and holding so I'm happy.
I did check first and I can only find a similar post from 2018, which is quite a while ago and obviously the world has gone down a very different route since then, with "working at home" for most people, and TEAMS is now a much more important to keeping in contact.
As a photographer and videographer, I have the knowledge on how to use a professional camera as a webcam, and set up external lighting, to get very good quality and correctly lit video on a call.
But that isn't always possible on a work PC as it might require installing software, it's just time consuming to set it all up and get it going, OR regular Joe doesn't have that knowledge or expensive equipment.
This is where a webcam comes in.
In my case using a Logitech streamcam, which isn't bad. It's more convenient and plug and play, in most cases. But if using a webcam on a work device, you may still need to install software to edit settings.
Which is where you would hope that TEAMS might offer a solution, but it doesn't!
Will we ever get webcam settings, within TEAMS, to adjust the image quality and lighting?
It seems like it wouldn't be that complicated to add in for software which is primarily intended to be used with video broadcasts and webcam calls. It's a fundamental feature. Especially if you want your footage to look professional for clients or just during a team catch up.
This is a major omission. It really, really annoys me that there is no camera control in Teams. Not only that, but when you do open a control app such as Logitech Hub or Logitech Capture to configure it, Teams then resets it all again!
Zoom has much more control within the app, and things it doesn't control it doesn't reset them. Also Zoom has a really excellent chroma key setting to make your meetings look really professional. The Teams background is just rubbish by comparison with your head disappearing half the time.
One workaround is to use Skype for Business to adjust the settings before you start Teams and it somehow remembers them for the rest of the day. Most companies uninstall SfB though once they switched to Teams.
Another workaround would be to install the $1 app called "Webcam System Settings" which does the same thing and you can use it while Teams is running to adjust the settings.
But really, come on MS Teams devs - step up to at least look like you give a **bleep** about customer experience!
