Good to know: When you get a new Telstra Smart Modem, if you change the Wi-Fi name and password to be exactly the same as your previous Wi-Fi network, all devices will automatically connect to the new network.

At Telstra we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.

I'm just recently added the DumaOS to my Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2 with Telstra but for some reason the username and password whilst I'm connected the wifi is not allowing me to connect to DumaOS IOS app, it just says "cannot connect to server". What is the solution around this?

I've been in contact with Telstra and they are saying that my modem is only applicable with your BETA and because my app is alpha that could be the problem; could you confirm whether this is accurate or not?

No that isn't the case but I've just looked at some of our internal communications and I can see it is an issue on the current version of the public app, we have already deployed a fix to our test version which has been confirmed as working by Telstra so shouldn't be too long until we can push the fix to the app store.

I'm using version 1.0.1 of the DumaOS app on Android and can login fine ? did you happen to change you LAN address range by any chance and that's why you cannot login as the app might be trying to find 192.168.0.1 but it can't?

Hi Mannrs, thanks for getting in contact. Yes I can access the web interface via the backend of my modem. My question to the Telstra team was whether I had the ability to access the application e.g. DumaOS outside of the house when I'm not on my Telstra home internet or does it only work when I'm directly connected? They couldn't give me a direct answer to this either; so if you could that would be super helpful!

I haven't changed anything, I left everything as it was because I didn't want to make things too complicated and why fix something that isn't broken LOL I might try it on android and see if that works since I have both devices at home and let you know when I have an answer. No change on my Samsung S10+

@Jonnyboy0022 Thanks for posting the picture, I can see that you're on the Arcadyan build which is currently in Alpha and does not have support for the mobile app just yet. If you're interested in taking part in the Arcadyan beta then you can post here for tjw to add you. -lh1000-arcadyan-open-beta/?do=findComment&comment=266195You wouldn't be able to access the app when you are outside of your home, you would have to be directly connected to the modem. Game Optimiser is in beta (Technicolor) & alpha (Arcadyan) essentially and the mobile app is in Alpha, it just represents their individual states of development but they will work together.

I'm in Australia and use Telstra because of my location. So mobile app nor the will take me to my messages and the Nighthawk is telling me it's full of messages. It can't possibly be any simpler when it's "admin" and "admin" The username is already in there and I dutifully tyjpe in "admin" for a pass word and it just keeps on telling me to enter a correct password.

Same device here, and its a user interface thing that caught me up too.

Type in the password, and hit enter 'Before!' clicking the Sign In button.

When you hit enter at the end of the password, the Sign In button will change colour, and that's when the button is live.

Why would I reset the Router? The problem is the same at every login, regardless of whether the M1 has just been switched on, or has been running for hours.

As I said, the solution is to hit enter at the end of typing in the password, at which point the Sign In button becomes live and can be clicked.

Just got a Nighthawk M1 LTE Mobile Router off eBay for use whilst travelling. It is branded Telstra (Australia) and is unlocked. Inserted my AIS (Thailand) 4G SIM card and it seems to work fine. Computer and phone can connect OK. When I use the router power button to scroll screens it displays a username and password (on the SSID screen).

Downloaded the Netgear Mobile App on my Android phone. Not able to get past the sign-in because the app does not permit me to change the Username from "admin". I tried using "admin" with "attadmin" (but I guess that only works with devices bought through ATT in USA). Also tried "admin" and the password stated on the SSID screen. No good.

Anyway, changed it to something more secure one night before I went to bed. Logged in to the router and did the same thing there. Next day when I got home from work, I discovered our internet wasnt working. I assumed it was a temporary outage or something. Didnt even think it might be a password issue. Left it for the night. Got home the next night from work and it was still the same. Remembered that I had changed the password not long ago, so logged into Bigpond website on my phone and made doubly sure of what I changed it to. Logged into the router (Billion 7800N) and made certain I was inputting the right password (and I was). Still no good.

Anyway, after a while on the phone to Bigpond, checking for line errors or outages in my area, eventually they reset my password with a temporary one of random letters and numbers. Put these details into my router and everything works again. So I log into the BP website again, change my password again and then proceed to do the same in my router. Same problem, connection gone.

There is a password to log into the router and a password to log onto the internet, these are two different things, however it appears that you are changing the correct one if you can connect to the internet after entering the random letters password.

The first password is when you login to the modem. When you use your browser to access the modem, it will request a user name and password. This is usually the default for the modem unless you have changed that password.
After you have logged into the modem, you can change this modem access password.

When you are in the modem, you can also change your internet connection password. The internet connection password must be the same as your BigPond password and it must be the same as your BigPond email password. Change them in this sequence:
Online Bigpond password > Modem internet password > Bigpond email password in your email software.

That's for changing your passowrd online for your account only, it doesn't change the passwords in the modem or any email progam you are using, now I really have no idea if you are acually changing the password in the modem itself or just changing it online and expecting it to work.

I have had this issue before, it had something do with the old credentials being "cached" by the BigPond RADIUS servers? Sometimes it's a luck of the draw when attempting to update the password online and hope that it works in the modem.

Changing the password online will not automatically update the password in the modem, you must do that yourself via the config page. If you already changed the password then perhaps the issue above is happening, or something else.

Unfortunately I can't even try to fix this at the moment! Got home from work last night and my internet was out. I figured it was finally wanting the new password (the one I changed it to on the Bigpond website), but that didn't work either. Changed back to my randomly generated one, still no good. Stuffed around trying a few different things before calling Bigpond. Eventually got them to just reset my password again. STILL no good! They say there is no problem with my line. They think the probelm might be that I have entered too many incorrect ADSL passwords in my modem and that it is "locked" and I have to either do a factory reset or contact Billion to get them to tell me how to unlock it/fix the problem. Very reluctant to do a reset as I have it setup the way I like and can't remember half of what I did now. What a pain in the arse!

That doesn't happen, never ever have I ever seen a ADSL modem locked due to passwords, that only ever happens to Bigpond accounts if you try the incorrect password 3 times or more, and the lockout is only for a couple of hours at the most.

Look we really need to know, where are you entering this password, post a screenshot, I am still not sure you are entering the password in the correct place, while I originally thought you were following discussion has left me doubting.

Just suggesting something to check, you may have already done it or it may not apply, but I had to reset my bigpond password the other night after replacing the Telstra provided router with an existing one I had.

It confused me as I created the "My Account" login after my bigpond credentials were given to me, but I thought it replaced them, so I deleted the old emails that were provided to me when I first joined.

Change it to something else, and my internet just keeps working with the old password. I would have thought it would stop working within a few minutes and the new password would be required in my router details. Doesn't seem to be the case.

Although as I said, I am not even changing it here yet. I have changed it online at the page I linked in my last post. So far I have not changed it in the modem setting (pictured above). Shouldn't my internet connection stop working seeing as I have changed the password with Bigpond?
