Dear Liz,

We need a good news story on climate change - like tens of thousands of Australians turning out this weekend to show their support for strong climate action. Can you be part of that story this weekend, as people around the world join Australians in calling for world leaders to pass the test of our generation?

Moments like this in history don't come often. A global day of climate action has been declared at the most important point during the Copenhagen meetings.

Where: State Library, Swanston Street, Melbourne
When: This Saturday (Dec 12) at 12pm
Dress (optional): FABulous (Fair, Ambitious, Binding), which means Orange and anything from 80's Glam to modern chic

This is the test of our political generation. Our leaders need to seriously up the urgency and scope of their thinking at Copenhagen if we're going to address the climate crisis.

The only way they'll do that is if there is enough global outcry to shake them from their slumber - right now they're acting as if the planet's survival is something they can negotiate their way around. World leaders need to be pushed, if we are to get the best scenario out of these do-or-die talks:

But while our team in Copenhagen are relaying your climate concerns to the Australian negotiators, the Australian media are telling them that the climate sceptics are out in force. So, we need your help this Saturday to turn the tide before it's too late.

Hope to see you looking FABulous this Saturday!
The GetUp Team

PS - The world needs to see something special if we are to achieve the outcome we need at Copenhagen. You can be a part of that special something by joining thousands of Australians in this Saturday's Walk Against Warming - the most important one ever, as countries meet to determine our future.
