This video features Ajitha Hare, a Kathakali Padam (song) in Kuchelavritham rendered by a group of Kathakali artistes. Kathakali is a traditional dance form and a popular art of Kerala which dates back to the 17th century.

The performance is based on the tales from Hindu mythology. The padams are composed for each story and are performed accordingly. Usually Kathakali music is compared with Sopana music (sopana sangeetham). Usually the singers stand towards the back of the stage and sing while the costumed dancers mime out the story centrestage.
