My bose soundlink mini will pair with my Macbook Pro, the connection is there, but no sound. I went to System Preferences, clicked on bose and it will play for no more than 2 seconds before it reverts back to playing from the computer speakers. I haven't had any problems with any other device. I upgraded to Maverick when it didn't work with Lion, but it didn't matter.

I upgraded from Lion to Maverick when I thought that would help. Maverick as far as I can tell doesn't have the option to reject imcoming audio requests, which I noticed before the upgrade. I upgraded because I thought the older software was a problem. Just got off of the phone with Bose, and they are suggesting that it is a problem with my computer. It shows they are paired and connected. Works with iPads, phones, etc. Any other suggestions.

I have tried everything that I can think of. I removed the Bose soundlink, rebooted, etc. I opened iTunes and I can get music to play through apple tv, computer, and still even though I see bose is connected, it doesn't play. In that dropdown that shows my options, apple tv, airtunes, computer, bose isn't there....Help

Try dragging that file to your desktop, and log out, reboot, logbackin and try again, if it works you can trash the file from your desktop. If no change, using the same path you can drag that file back to where it was, (It should give a message that this file already exists, click replace) If it does work you may have to pair some of your devices again, if it does not work, dragging it back in should put everything back the way it was.

This actually worked, the Pram reset, well, kind of. It worked for a short while. At some point, I realized that the music stopped playing. I did that reset again, and then it worked. As I type this now, it just stopped again. I went to sound in preferences, highlighted bose soundlink, it immediately jumped to a different output, and is playing through that, but only for a short while.

I have Bose Soundlink devices to share audio around the home. Since upgrading my wifi to Deco M5, I cannot get Bose Soundlink to work. I've trawled everywhere I can think of and cannot find any helpful info on this. Does anyone have any good ideas please?

Thanks for your suggestion. i tried what you suggested, but with no success. I get no error message, the soundlink app sits there attempting to connect the second speaker (that it can see) then disengages it. And then nothing else happens. I'm at a loss.

Hi,

For pairing your bluetooth Bose speaker to your computer. I have included the link 'SoundLink Wireless Mobile speaker update' to download the actual software, and updates available. According to the page for the download, you will need to have the speaker connected to the computer with a micro USB cord.

If the above step fails to resolve the issue, I will need to know the full model number of your notebook, and what version of Windows you are running. I have included the documents 'Guide to finding your product number', and 'Which Windows operating system am I running?'.

Thank you.

This software update you posted is for the larger Bose Soundlink speaker, and NOT the smaller Bose Soundlink Mini. I too have the same problem pairing my Bose Soundlink Mini with my Windows 8.1 laptop (HP 2000 laptop) with Bluetooth adapter. I really think this is a Windows 8.1 issue but if you know anything that can help troubleshoot this, that would be great.

I have been working with a couple of other people on this thread but it appears that those speakers are not compatible with laptops. Pinehurst_Ken had contacted Bose and they said his computer lacks A2DP support which is something that is not available on all Bluetooth adapters.

It's not true that the mini soundlink does not work with laptops. I have a macbook air as well as an HP elitebook. to make the mac work with the Bose, just turn it on. To make the HP work. .. not sure yet, but it clearly involves a lot of time on forums reading instructions that also do not work about installing drivers.

I have an HP Pavilion g7 notebook pc. My Bose Mini Soundlink speaker worked perfectly with windows 8. When I upgraded to Windows 8.1, it failed to work. I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with a Bose technician to no avail (although the speaker did work with my tablet and phone.) I tried to troubleshoot on my own through Hardware and Sound/Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator. The device status reported "A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32) I went to the HP site and downloaded 2 driver updates. The Bose Mini Soundlink was connected after that but still did not work. I uninstalled the device, erased the memory and reinstalled. It paired just fine, but the music still does not play through the speakers! Very, very frustrating. Is this a Microsoft issue (apparently). I hope someone can help.
