Good morning to all!
Lord willing, this week sometime we will sign the initial
agreement for purchase of the property for the vocational school.
We are just waiting on the bank to finalize their paper work. A
brother pledged the initial money for the moment, but will have to
pay him back, so we are moving forward. We were also able to team up with
Martin Accounting of Myerstown to be able to make a tax-exempt
donation. I will insert the details below.
Some of you asked for some more info about our vision, so thought
I would also give that here. I know quite a few of you have heard
this before, so bear with me...
For quite a few years
we have had a vision of starting something where we can teach
people some basic skills. The kind of things we were taught to
do, and if not, figure it out... We see so many people,
especially neighbor children, just sit around after school doing
nothing. Their schooling is basic, and then they have TV and the
streets...
Our goal is to teach them skills that will help some to even
start up their own job/business, as employment is hard to come
by. There are lots of opportunities, but very few jobs.
Some of the classes we would like to teach are: Basic electric,
plumbing, baking, sewing, macrame, art, etc. And as there is
demand for other classes, do those as well.
A core group of these children have come to our Wednesday
evening Children's class since we started here. The
relationships from that are paying off, slowly... And with the
school we would like to not only teach trades, but practical
spiritual lessons as well, incorporated into each class. And
even though we want to teach children, we also look forward to
teaching adults.
English is another subject we have been asked about a lot. We
might start a class and that one would be paid. That might
finance some of our other costs.
We also have a vision to start a store to sell MZL books as well
as maybe be an outlet for baked goods and crafts from the
school...
Here is the info to be able to make a tax-exempt donation. Make the check payable to:

You will need to include a note stating that this is for the
Managua, Nicaragua, vocational school. Any additional donations
beyond building cost will be used for building maintenance and
operating costs.
