Ihad checked via "Online Update" for firmware updates and the report back was no firmware available, even though there are updates to both satellites available thru their respective product pages, so I downloaded firmware files for manual update.
Refreshed the browser, and checked the box to select the RBW30 and manually update the firmware. When I selected the file and clicked the upload button, I was getting an error, "The firmware file is incorrect!"...After several attempts, I clicked on the "status" menu option for the satellite, I realized I was still logged into the RBS20!. Once I manually changed the IP address in the browser over to the RBW30, the update went smoothly.
I was sure I had the correct satellite checked in the update section, but in my case, it was probably a caching problem with my browser, so I was trying to upload the RBW30 firmware to the RBS20. Fortunately, the Netgear folks double check all that so users like me don't accidentally send the wrong files to the wrong hardware!
My GX 4020 constantly goes offline and I'm not able to print from any device. It it wireless, has a static IP address, and I changed the power settings so it is always on, but 90% of the time when I try to print it is "offline". When it is "offline" and I try to access the web interface for the printer, it either does not respond, or is very slow to respond. When I am able to print and try to access the web interface it is very responsive. The firmware is up to date. Any help would be appreciated.
It is a Netgear Orbi Mesh network consisting of a RBR40 router and 3 RBW30 satellites. I a few other machines with static IPs that are wireless (web server, media server, SVN/GIT server) that have consistent
Thank you for your prompt reply. I had a RBR50 with 2 satellites for several years. Its a bit older now, but is still a good mesh system offering reliable 2.4Ghz/5G performance. I'm hoping your printer is under warranty and is being replaced by Canon.
Update: They sent me a replacement printer. I have had it for a few hours connected to my WIFI, and when I ping it I am getting very fast results (Our Rachio Gen2 is connected to our Ubiquiti UniFi mesh equipment and is fine. I do have an additional 2.4GHz network running for equipment (Rachio and Sense) which cannot deal with the same SSID simultaneously on 5Ghz/2.4Ghz channels.
I have a Rachio3 and at the original Orbi 3 Mesh system. The System works just great. It is connect via the 5 gHz network and the satellite which is closest to the Rachio controller (I have two satellites and the Orbi base is on the furthest side of the house from the controller.
Working fine with Orbi RBR50 with two RBW 30 satellites. The Rachio 2nd gen unit is mounted where it connects to the base RBR50 directly, not through the satellites. Orbi frequecy adapts as needed to slower connections.
I have had more issues with my Orbi than with the Rachio Gen 2 in my garage. My Orbi system consists of an RBK50(RBR50 router and RBS50 satellite), plus an RBW30 out in the garage. I also have two Rheem water heaters with Econet wifi controllers, and a Ring Doorbell 2.
As an early adopter, the Orbi gave me fits, but almost two years later, Netgear has its firmware and app working well. If your Orbi kit is not running firmware v.2.3.5.30, upgrade it. The current version of the Orbi app is v.2.4.2.725.
Good luck!
I have a similar set up. Orbi RBK50 mesh system, Emerson Sensi thermostat, Rachio second Gen. The app is are on the iPhone 12. Before I switch my old router with the Orbi, any advice on getting everything to work correctly? Thank you
Thank you. But setting it to work with the apps on my iPhone 12 which is on 5ghz should be an issue. What about just setting the devices up to the wifi, Did u have to make some setting changes to accomplish this?
