When I was in middle school, during the prime era of the Harry Potter franchise I was on my way home after a long day at school. I was sitting on the bus waiting for stop after stop and kid after kid to get off the bus when something caught my eye, it was a sign that I swore on every dead person's grave read Privet Drive. I was so excited that I couldn't wait to get home and tell my mom I had found Harry Potter's house. When I got home I rushed inside and screamed literally, screamed at my mom that we had to go back to this house. Now my middle school was right in town so the drive was only 2 or 3 minutes tops. My mom, being an avid Potter fan just like myself jumped up and rushed to the car and we were off! I was trying very hard to remember where exactly I had seen the sign all the while getting even more excited that the little town in Illinois was going to be where Harry Potter had his American house. The more I thought about it the more I was convincing myself that this story was becoming reality, I was a weird kid. Anyway, after about 10 minutes of seaerching we came upon the house I was all excited and told my mom over and over again that it said Privet Drive, and that maybe thhese people were really big fans of the Dursley's and Harry and we should go meet them. She then burst out laughing and I couldn't figure out what was so funny. How come she didn't want to go meet the people who could be related to Harry? She then told me to look at the sign again, and this time I saw that it actually read PRIVATE DRIVE. I turned brick read and was mortified, I had never been so embarrased in my life. My mom on the other hand thought it was hilarious and laughed and laughed for the rest of the night. I'm sure this story will come up at my wedding...cheers.
This house has a multi-level floor plan. On the main level is the living room and the master bedroom with a king bed and a private bathroom with shower. A half-level up there is the kitchen and dining room, and a bedroom with a Queen bed and a bathroom with a tub/shower. A half-level up from that there is a bedroom with King bed and a private bathroom with a tub/shower. A half-level up from that is a bedroom with a Queen bed and private bathroom with shower and a bedroom with two Double beds and a private bathroom with shower.
Fun thing about that rake is that I can also make new trails through the woods with it, turning heavy undergrowth into groomed trail in two passes, it rips everything up and then smooths it out. But I can also use it in my riding ring and not harm the base. And I use it a lot for quick drainage fixes. I can flip all the teeth up and keep just one or two down and drive where I want the water to run and create quick little drainage ditches.
Check with an attorney on state or local laws that govern private roads. Also check the deeds of the properties along the road and see if they say anything about maintenance. You might get a pleasant surprise or you might not.
We have a 3/4 mile long gravel driveway in an easement shared with two farmers and one other residential home. No one else has chipped in for the maintenance over the 18 years we have been here, but when we ran a boarding operation we figured we used it most. Bought the TR-3 rake a few years ago, and it makes driveway maintenance SO much better. Part of the key is to smooth the potholes as soon as they appear, before they become monsters. The other is to do the work when the driveway is a bit wet; makes for easy grading. But like MistyBlue posted above, I find the TR-3 is the ideal tool for the job. It is still necessary to buy a load or two of aggregate or crushcrete every few years to add to the stone.
When ordering, you can get your private drive signs laminated to safeguard them against damage. Lamination improves the luminance and weatherability of signs. They are easy to maintain and last for up to 5 years.
