I did notice at least Bastion had a healthy source of Dinosaur Cards both based on his own "Science Cards" as well as Hassleberry's cards. But that's really it. And as much as I enjoyed Ultimate Tyranno as a kid, kinda wanna know what other new Dinos (if any) have come from my general years of absence so I can both experiment as well as learn what else I have missed. Hense why I'm asking this.

Dinosaur lovers will be delighted to receive these terrific Valentine's Day cards. The dinosaurs are crafted with honeycomb detail, and are perfect to give a fantastic decoration to any room. The cards feature a dinosaur landscape, in green foil, to be colored in.

The last activity involved sorting the dinosaurs from smallest to biggest, which took some critical thinking. He needed to consider the perspective of the little reference man in each image to figure out how big the dinosaurs really were. I was surprised that he was able to do this almost entirely on his own. I consider this to be a math activity as it involves mathematical thinking to complete. The other sorting activities (herbivore/carnivore, time periods, and world map) also provided valuable opportunities for him to practice organizing information in different ways, a skill that is important in the study of science.

To complete these cards, I used Wikipedia and the National Geographic Kids book called The Ultimate Dino-pedia (Amazon affiliate link). I recommend checking it out from your local library if available.

Recommended Age Range: Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary
Time Required: 30 minutes to laminate 3-part cards, 30 minutes to get lap book ready for child, about 1-2 hours for child to complete lap book
Difficulty: Easy
Cost: Free printable. Less than $2 in used supplies (even less if you use contact paper instead of laminating pouches to laminate).

To do the activities in this lap book, I had my kindergartner use the laminated control cards for reference. You can do the activities in any order, but to start, he took all 12 control cards and sorted them by dinosaur size. Once he was done, I showed him how to use the lengths printed on the cards to switch a couple of them, but honestly, a couple of the orderings are a little arbitrary since some of the dinosaurs are slightly taller than longer dinosaurs.

When a playable reaches the elder stage (Level 100), they are eligible for rebirthing. Upon going to the rebirth menu, three cards will be available. You can unlock all three cards for free to see their benefits and consequences, however equipping one costs 10,000 DNA. Equipping a card will also result in your playable returning to Level 0. You can also reroll all three cards for 500 DNA, if no cards available are ones you want.

Every time the player is at level 100, the player will have 3 Cards with the word unlock. Upon opening a card, it will show the card's nerfs and buffs. If the player doesn't want any of the cards, the player must reroll the cards with the price of DNA. If the player eats a Fruit, the cards will either turn Blue, Green, Red, or Yellow if its a wastelands fruit or remain black if its a utility fruit, meaning that it is boosted.

If the player wants to Storage Cards, they can go to the Card Vault which can store 3 additional cards. If the player wants to get more card slots for them, they most purchase the Card Vault Expansion for an additional 7 Card Slots which gives the max amount of 10 Cards in total for the vault or 13 including the 3 equipped card slots.

Fruits are special items that can be obtained in the Wastelands, or in the case of Swim Fruits, anywhere underwater. There is a special, color coded message whenever a fruit spawns, or whenever a player collects one (except for Swim Fruits). Fruits can be used while on the rebirth screen to boost the chances of specific cards (Brisk Fruits will boost the odds of Brisk cards) and therefore specific desired effects.

I started with stamping images from the Dinosaur Friends Stamp Set and Dinosaur Additions Stamp Set. I used their coordinating dies (Dinosaur Friends and Dinosaur Additions) to cut out the images and used a light tack mat to hold them in place when coloring them in with Ohuhu Art Markers. I am coloring the dinosaurs in all different colors so i can create two different themed cards.

I found this Animated Lenticular Dinosaur Card SVG file and fell in love with how it made it look like the dinosaur was moving! I knew I had to make it for one of my nephews for a birthday card. The only bad part about the file, was that it only came with a few short written instructions for how to put the card together. Not to worry! I am here to walk you through the steps and there is even a video at the end of this post!

Recently I discovered a card making artist that uses this technique to make cards with images that look like they are moving! If you want to purchase the SVG that I used for this animated lenticular dinosaur card you can click HERE.

I was really excited about this because I feel like these animated cards are so fun, and creating them could be a great new trend in the card making world. I had to reach out to the person that was sharing her variation of this card, and I am so glad I did because she figured out a way to make other designs for this same type of card.

I am so glad that this helped you out! I kind of felt the same way when I was making the card, and that is exactly why I wanted to create this tutorial and video so that other people did not have to struggle to figure out all of the steps. The cards are so fun, and it would be a shame if people did not make them just because they could not figure out how to put all of the pieces together!

Dinosaur Cards are used to summon dinosaurs, the main fighting force in every media iteration of the franchise. They are divided into seven Elements, with six regular and one special. Some dinosaurs also feature in the effects of Move Cards, where they can be part of Normal or two Elements of Super Moves.

In the arcade game, Dinosaur Cards are one of 3 card types alongside Move and Character. Some aspect of them, typically in the border and their name, is the color of their Element; in the case of foil cards, however, these aspects can be replaced with a shiny gold, silver, or bronze. They are used to select the dinosaur the player will be fighting as by swiping the barcode along one side through the arcade machine's card reader; though the machine usually spits out a random card for each new player, default dinosaurs exist on standby for those without cards. They have several important stats: Attribute, Sign, Strength, Technique, Attack, and Type. Early arcade card waves did not include the Type stat, and only cards from certain waves display the Attack stats.

The arcade game is the standard for Dinosaur Cards on this Wiki. Most dinosaurs have multiple iterations of their card based on how many waves they were released in, but differ only in artwork and sometimes Type. Owing to this, they are the only Dinosaur Card group without a standard appearance, and the only one that can have landscape orientation.

In the anime, Dinosaur Cards are one of 2 card types alongside Move. The body of the cards are a gray color; Secret Dinosaur cards have a gray-to-yellow gradient to indicate inherent Move Cards; dinosaurs with Spectral Armor have dark purple cards instead; Alpha Dinosaur cards have a brighter purple on the back only; and Black Dinosaur cards are nearly black. They can be activated and become the dinosaur in an Element-colored glow by coming into contact with their Element in the environment, or by being swiped across their Element's Stone; swiping a dinosaur's card down across a Stone summons them full size, while swiping them up across one summons them as a pet-sized chibi version; Spectral Armor Dinosaur Cards drain to complete grayscale when the dinosaur is summoned, this card later adding their armor. Only dinosaurs summoned with a Stone or a device powered by or copying the power of a Stone can be recalled on command. If a dinosaur, activated or summoned, takes too much damage or runs out of energy, they will return to their card in an Element-colored glow; the glow is always purple for Spectral Armor Dinosaurs. Velociraptor is a special case exception to almost every rule, more details on its page.

The anime contains many but not all Dinosaur Cards from the arcade game, including a host of Spectral Armor Dinosaurs not in the arcade. Uniquely among the various media, anime Dinosaur Cards usually only show the head and neck of the dinosaur instead of a full body view; only altered Spectral Armor Dinosaurs feature the armor in the image. Especially among those introduced in Mesozoic Meltdown, some dinosaurs' cards are only briefly seen as small on the screen during summoning, and sometimes only their Spectral Armor or grayscale versions.

In the TCG, Dinosaur Cards are one of 3 card types alongside Move and Character. They feature black headings and tabs. It is suggested they comprise about half of a player's deck. A player can control up to 3 Dinosaurs at once, the Turn Counter limiting which ones can be Dino Slashed at any given time based on their level, though any number can be Dino Slashed in a turn. They have several important stats (described here): Element, Icon, Power, Level, Life, and Abilities. A second variant, Special Dinosaurs, represent the anime main dinosaurs, and involve a small/weak version needing to be in play to replace it with a stronger/armored version; they can only be used with the right Characters selected.

The TCG contains almost all regular, altered, and Spectral Armor Dinosaurs from the arcade game and anime, with some exclusive altered and armored dinosaurs, as well as several Move Card dinosaurs featuring as standalone Dinosaur Cards. It also features "alternate" variants of dinosaurs with extra words in their names, such as "Thundering Styracosaurus", listed separately here.
