Deleting pulses

Hello,

I've created a timing diagram and the code it was based upon changed and I need to delete some pulses but I keep getting a pop-up dialog with the following text:

"WARNING: Cannot Add Pulse in Division"
When adding asynchronous pulses, the signal must be stable during the time division.
Consider moving any edges out of this timer period or zooming in until the signal is stable for a division.

What does that really mean?

How can I tell what "division" the application is referring to?

Why is this even an issue?

I should be able to add or remove pulses anytime and anywhere I see fit.

If I can move edges anywhere I choose then why can't I delete that pulse with the arbitrary length?

Very confusing and limiting as it makes the user jump through way too many hoops to perform a simple task like deleting a pulse.

Any help in minimizing my trouble understanding how to "work around" this "feature" would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,
Gary

I've attached a screenshot of the dialog.

Hi Gary,

Adding async pulses work just like synchronous pulses but instead of using a clock cycle to determine the pulse width,  the time for 1division on the time ruler determines the pulse width.  If the signal changes state in the division where you want to add a pulse,  then the warning occurs.  If you move that edge out of the division you can then add a pulse there.

I will think about ways to make this easy.  Let me know if you have any ideas here.  But,  when adding repetitive pulses like a counter,  the edge times need to be know to space the pulses the same.
