HI Andreas,

Yes, I see the error.  It is due to Apple’s “sandbox” technology, not allowing an app to access any files outside the sandbox.  So in this situation, when TimeSlice starts, it’s trying to access a file that is outside its sandbox, hence the error.

I’m not sure what can be done about it, but I’ll take a look.  I will change the help file to reflect this issue.

Thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill,

the instructions referred to in https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/timeslice-tech-support/KJdY7kjTyWY/l063z3d4aK8J, and still present in the current help file, do not seem to apply to the AppStore TS (4.7.6) in Yosemite 10.10.5 (14F1505) Swiss German localization.
TS moans that "the file can't be opened" when there is an alias to the database and the original is on a volume different from the startup volume.

It is essential that my original database be on that other volume.

Andreas

I was about to come across this same issue, hoping to allow a remote user to access their timeslice db across an AFP volume mount. Please keep me in the loop on this one.

I’ll post something here if this changes.  As usual it’s not a simple fix.

Thanks,
Bill
