I have had a paid version of TimeSlice from you via Kagi for nearly six years.
I have been using it simply to record time on clients' cases, the hourly each is charged, and the $$ total.

I also have had TimeSlice v 1.2.5 on my iPhone 5s for the same time.

I just installed Yosemite and have started moving apps to that OS from Mavericks.

Went to the App Store, clicked on the link to your firm and got to your Support at http://timeslice.modesittsoftware.com/TimeSlice/Macintosh.html.  It states:

"Try before you buy

Download theTimeSlice demo today and give it a try. Try it for as long as you want without paying anything. The only restriction the unregistered version has is a limit on the amount of time you can record to a file. Otherwise, the product is completely functional."

(1) How does one "try before you buy in the App Store?"

(2) Then at the bottom of that page you have a link I assumed was to a trial version but actually opens a mailto for someone in Germany:

"[Redacted]@ndh.net"

(3) Additionally the help page reached in the mobile version on my iPhone links to an "Error 404 File Not Found."

If I purchase the App Store version (paying twice for TimeSlice) I see you have posted  instructions on how to import the database, which I assume should be simple.

But where is the mobile version?

In summary:

  • Can one try before buying with the App Store version?
  • Where is the mobile version for my iPhone 5s that synchs up to TimeSlice and am I going to have to "repay" for that one too?

Thank You,

PRexpert

P.S. if my three "catches" above are legit I should be comped for the App and Mobile versions for serving as your "shadow editor without portfolio."

Hi,

1. On the URL you referenced, where you saw "try before you buy" there's a download button on the upper right.  On the download page there's a "Mac app store demo" download.

2. Great, if you speak German!

3. iPhone TimeSlice has been discontinued for over 3 years, maybe longer.

Thanks!
Bill

Thanks Bill,
Had no idea the grayed out download in the top nav was, in fact, the download. But now I do.  Got it and will try it out.
Still curious why there's a link to someone in Germany on that page.
And, lastly, if the iPhone TimeSlice is no more how do I log time on my iPhone and subsume it into the Mac OS X version I will demo and, I assume, buy?

Glad you figured out the download button.

The link to someone in Germany is for those that would like a German-language TimeSlice.  Feel free to ignore it.

Sorry, I can't suggest any iPhone time & billing apps.  Maybe someone on this forum will post what they use for iOS?

Thanks,
Bill
