Sorry about that. I must enable Gmail Undo send!

I just wanted to add that I would like to tidy up my TimeSlice but am
frightened of deleting too much (which obviusly didn't stop me
deleting too much this morning).

Anyway, I have tried replacing TimeSlice.sqlite from the backup again
and this time I have two empty windows and no records at all.

It depends if you're using the Mac App Store version or the serial number version. But the preferences location button works on both. There's more on this at the TimeSlice Google group.

Thanks for the replies. I can't tell which version I have. I have had
it for a very long time.

However, it directs me to exactly where I restored, but seemingly I
have two such databases, although at the moment both are empty.

But I have solved my main problem, in that if I look at Control Panel
- Jobs - I get a list of this year's plus how long they took. (I am
really interested only in three which I charge together at the end of
the year).

TimeSlice is really confusing for me. I don't understand why several
versions open at once. I tried to find an easier program but failed.

When you say there is more at the google group, I must say I only know
Yahoo groups. You mean I can go to this group and do a search?

Thanks.

Right, I have found the group and found that you gave me the same
answer on 14.8.2014. I have now tried it again, closing TimeSlice
first, and though the missing records seem to flash up when I restart
TimeSlice, they vanish. Can I have accidentally set a filter so I
don't see them? I am replacing with a backup dated 5th June or
thereabouts, it clearly predates my problems today.

I would also like to know how to make only one version of Timeslice
open. Or can it be that I have set three windows to open on startup?
If so, which of those is the right one? New window 1, new window 2 or
my window?

Yes, you probably have a filter set. On the bottom left corner is a popup menu. Make sure it says “no filter”.

It’s a bad idea to have more than one copy of TimeSlice open at the same time. Doing so will corrupt the data file.

I’m traveling now so replies will be sporadic. I suggest you join the TimeSlice Google group. Others there may reply faster than I.

Thank you. I will join the group next time I have a problem. I
actually thought, though, that I was in the group, because I get other
people's messages too.

At the moment I seem only to have one copy of TimeSlice, and I have
removed the filters, so everything is OK for the time being.

Yes, you are in the group! My mistake, sorry.
