Maintaining colors for placemarks defined in kml

Hi everyone,

I am new to this pretty cool program. I am trying to display temporal data from a KML but for some reason the colors in the kml get overridden by some default color I have not been able to override. Is there anyway I can keep the colors in the kml for the different placemarks?.
