Economic Insecurity Continues…and Communities Respond
First Unitarian Church, Eliot Chapel, SW 12th & Salmon
Speakers: Chuck Collins with Marty Hart-Landsberg
Free! (donations accepted)

Are you facing hard times or concerned about local and global “norms” of economic insecurity? Trends confirm the difficulties that lie ahead, yet deep, meaningful and hopeful communities of mutual aid and resilience are emerging.

Learn why our economic “recovery” is problematic and how groups around the nation have taken economic security into their own hands in a way that promotes life and real wealth. Opportunities to deepen economic security with other Portlanders will be presented, including First Unitarian's own “Resilience Circles.”

Marty Hart-Landsberg is an author and Professor of Economics and Director of the Political Economy Program at Lewis and Clark College, focusing on political economy, economic development and international economics.

Chuck Collins is an author and senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies (DC/Boston) where he directs the Program on Inequality and the Common Good. He is also the co-founder of United for a Fair Economy and founder of the Common Security Club movement.
