I need to attach an object to the top of the tube, but still have it track with the wild turbulent movement. Does anybody know a way to grab the position of for example 4 points and link that to a null so it tracks?
You could create a point in the center of multiple points and at the same level by closing the hole of the cylinder using Close Polygon Hole, then selecting the emerging polygon and right-click, then Split. The cap will become an independent element. Then delete the cap from the original cylinder, select all the points of the cap, and set all the size values at the bottom to zero. You will have now one point. right-click, then Optimize, then select the two elements, right-click, Connect Objects & Delete, now you can align the Null to the center point using Snap as in the attached screenshots.
I used the 4 points to get my central position null. I then attached nulls to the front and side points. I then used a target tag on my middle position null so it would track the side null, finally I put that inside another Null with a target facing the front null. (lots of nulls)
I will start with a rectangle, we will make the width 1m, and the height will be 800cm. If we rotate the rectangle, the angle is unknown. Then we will scale the rectangle with a factor that is also unknown. Create a vertical line, above the rectangle, at any length. Then create a horizontal line that is attached to the vertical line, with a width of 875; add another vertical line to the opposite side and then a horizontal line connected to that, to make a shape that looks like a stair.
Next, we want to scale the rectangle; the top corner to the left corner should be equal to our first horizontal line. So we will measure the distance between the top corner of the rectangle to the left corner; the measurement will not be accurate. I want the unknown rotation angle to be the same as our first horizontal line. To move our rectangle and make our upper left corner in the same place as the horizontal line corner, we can do it in sequence, do it as move, rotate, and then scale. But this takes longer, and we know a better option to complete it with one command.

On some Azure Kinects, we have noticed a slight misalignment between the sensor depth and color - More information is available on Microsoft's Azure Kinect SDK GitHub. In the meantime, we have provided an Alignment panel to solve for this potential issue in Depthkit Cinema.
Once your Cinema footage is linked and synchronized, if you notice a slight offset between the color and depth in your take, you can solve this with the Alignment panel, located within the Cinema Capture panel. With this functionality, you can tweak the depth and color alignment to solve for any discrepancy that your sensor may have introduced. Translate, rotate, or scale can all be used to adjust as needed.
If your sensor introduced this misalignment, you may need to apply these tweaks to all of your Cinema Captures. Simple click the Copy to Cinema Captures button to do this. This action will only copy the alignment values to takes with enabled Cinema Captures that share the same Camera Pairing data.
Please note that this not recommended as a solution for bad or moderate Camera Pairings. You must start your project with a good Camera Pairing to be set up for success to process your takes.
Moving the In and Out points on the timeline determines which portion of the capture will be exported. Use the Jump to In button to play the capture from the In point, and preview the duration of the selected timeline region.
The isolate panel allows you to remove excess or background data from your footage. You can isolate your scene in using different combinations of the Depth Range, Mask, and Crop tools.
Just like in the Record window, depth segmentation allows you to adjust your depth range as needed. Adjust this to bring both the near and far clipping planes as close to your subject as possible without clipping any part of them throughout the recording, so that the closest areas of your subject are red-orange, and the furthest areas are magenta. This results in higher-fidelity depth data.
If Refinement is enabled, you can crop the top, bottom, and sides of your clip as well. Adjust these so that they are as close to your subject as possible without clipping them at any point in your recording.
What we would need is an option to copy the meshed scan in a project , so we can change the position in space as we want and leave the original one unaltered , it would make huge change, less coding and altering would be needed .
I have so many projects , any huge changes to the software coding could make my projects no more editable so the best option would be to just change the meshed object in space but as copy it f the original one .
We need so many improvements at this moment with other features for processing pointcloud as that is the main focus .
Like fir example manual alignment under merging , and features like showing wire while simplifying and other stuff we all wait .
Did you found solution to move all the data files from the project folder to follow each changes to the point cloud original space ? It is not a modeling software , all data is linked precisely including each frame and image . So easy it is not , because you forgot of all the 4000 frames and 4000 images that need to rotate with it too , or you would be not able to process
That we understand each other correctly, I mean the orientation of the merged point cloud. But even the individual frames could be transformed, because the transformation data is the same for all points (relatively)
I am only saying that the dev.team knowing what they doing , their software is not open source software that can collect bunch of available free codes , it is a commercial software and trade mark of Revopoint .
So if they do add any feature it will be based on their own development and codes and for that they need a time developing it to call it their own . Fir other functions they need to pay license to be able to use it .
For example adding my request for having Manual White Balance required to change and update the hardware with special firmware, since most of features and function are already in that hardware and not everything run from the software , that allows the device to be portable .

If you select all layers and press the U key twice we can see what properties you have modified and have at least a clue to your workflow. Being able to see both the Modes and Switches column in the timeline would also help. I can guess by the apparent perspective in the two layers that they are 3D layers and I can also guess that the position of both layers is 1, either not the same, or 2, the anchor points are not in the center of the layers.
The comp you have shown us is really basic AE 3D. Until you get used to working in AE's 3D space I would strongly suggest that you select at least 2 views so you can see the camera and where the layers are on the stage. You should also spend at least a couple of hours doing some homework. This is a good place to start: Basic AE
