FromOldfred's links I re-learned about BIOS/UEFI MBR/GPT. First, since my Linux/W7 was installed with UEFI disabled, I cant expect to use UEFI/GPT on the second disk partitions. Second, allowing windows to create partitions on its own creates multiboot problems, as each OS wants to set up multiple partitions. By pre-partitioning the entire disk, I can force W10/W11 to install everything within a single partition.

It also seemed prudent to unplug the sati cable from the Linux/W7 disk to insure there was no funny business between drives. This all works if I want to use the MS BCD to select which W10/11 I want. But I want to directly load W10 or W11 from GRUB.But there is only one BCD store on the disk (in the W11 partition). I cant figure out how to add that to the W10 partition so each has its own BCD with only one entry. Then GRUB should find both and I'd have what I want.

Re-reading the finer points of oldfred references, I finely understood the significance of the windows boot flag. Some how I expected to be able to have booth windows primary partitions bootable, but no that is not how it works. Using gparted to swap the boot flag allowed me to reinstall W10 into its partition with all of the BCD & boot stuff needed for independent booting of W10. (W11 partition was already set.)

I know that windows 7 is no longer supported, but I am having a issue with trying to download it via a USB. The installer keeps saying that it is missing a driver and I'm pretty sure it is the usb3.0 driver. I have tried to mount the iso and put the drivers in the installer, but it is not working. Any help would be nice.

Press the Windows Key and R at the same time to bring up the Run dialog.

Type services.msc in the Run dialog and press Enter.

For each of the following services, locate the service in list, right-click the service and select Properties. Then set the Startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start) and select Apply.

When the other machines were moved to windows 10 or replaced Account names were recycled but not the passwords. So the passwords I was given for those accounts on that machine would only work on that machine.

When I was testing I decided to I try from a Win 10 machine. I disconnected the share and tried to remap it and it would not take the user name and password, just like the Win 7 machine. I was then told that the account had a different password.

Some of the most significant changes made to Windows 11 by Microsoft are visual ones, like changing the way the Start menu and taskbar appear. For some users, that's great news, as it makes the operating system feel modern and fresh. But for others, the new look of Windows 11 is an unnecessary change. Luckily, if you're missing the iconic and familiar look of Windows 7, you can make a few alterations to make your new laptop look a lot more like Windows 7. Most of this will require third-party tools, but there's at least one thing you can do without having to get any apps. Let's take a closer look.

Customization options in Windows 11 itself aren't really that extensive, but one thing you can do is move the Start menu back to the left of the screen rather than the center. You can also remove all those unnecessary taskbar icons Windows 11 includes. Here's how:

Moving your Start menu to the left is all fine and well, but if you want your PC to look like Windows 7, you're going to need some third-party apps. And thankfully, there's more than one option catering to that specific need.

WindowBLinds is another Stardock customization app, and this one can change the look of your operating system in general, like app windows or the taskbar. It's an expensive app, at $20, but if you're okay with that, here's how it works.

The last thing you may want to do before finishing your Windows 7 theme is download the official Windows 7 wallpaper. This is an optional step, but it definitely helps complete the look. Here's how.

After you've completed all these steps, your Windows 11 PC will look a lot like a Windows 7 machine. You'll have changed the desktop wallpaper, fixed the taskbar, reverted the Start menu, and changed window appearance settings at the operating system level. If you're familiar with Windows 7, it might make sense for you to take these steps to make your great PC look like an older one.

10 (A)Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby (B)put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open (C)the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the (A)fountains of the great deep burst forth, and (B)the windows of the heavens were opened.
