thanks for a truly interesting site; easy to navigate and the guitar tab feature is excellent.Has anyone worked out Dolphins yet?; I heard it for the first time yesterday and its really sublime.Shame starsailor is n't on cd release; Why? surely it's one of his most famous albums.Paul Zammit paolo...@hotmail.com
Love the site, but have to agree with Paul. Why exactly is it that Blue Afternoon and Starsailor are unavailable on CD? Is it a label thing? I admit that Starsailor isn't exactly mainstream stuff, but surely it warrants wider exposure! So - if you know - (1) who could release these albums, if they wanted to, and (2) why don't they do it?Keep on.David Gladwin (UK) d...@accounts.teps-gb.com
I was living at 1626 Haight Street in 1968 and spent most of my evenings at The Winterland Ballroom. From the moment I heard Tim Buckley's voice I was mesmerized! I don't remember who else was on the bill one night I came to party but I looked up and spotted Tom Donahue, "Big Daddy," Tim and Janey, deep in conversation. My escort for the evening was Gary Jackson, manager of The Charlatans, so we just bopped over and chatted for quite the while as we carried on an animated conversation. I remember just how gorgeous Tim was and how completely modest and subdued. I was informed later that he'd already begun drinking and doing smack but this was heresay.I do recall that I asked Tim to please sing "And it Happens Everytime" and he related that he didn't know the lyrics offhand. I was heartbroken when I heard that he'd overdosed-what a waste of such a beautiful and talented man. Dian Hill Melzer
Hello, my name is Bettie and I am writing to you from Hamburg (Germany). I just discovered your site and I find it really great, even if I did not read it throughly yet. I discovered Tim' s music some years ago first (I am 40, therefore a little too young to know him for a long time), nevertheless it touched me on the spot. His voice is (even if I should say "was") one of the greatest things I ever experienced. Such a sad thought to know, he already passed away...Kind regards to everbody on this pages. I saw him many times live and had all of his albums. He could blow you away with his singing and captivate an audience with his charisma and rhythm, truly one of the most original and hypnotic performers ever. He blended folk, rock and jazz in a style all his own.Barry McGuire
listen to this lady. She is my spirit guide and I am in direct contact with her. Thanks to everyone who listened so hard to my music when I was alive and after. I am overwhelmed by technology these days but listen to this. My son Jeff has been reunited with me on the other side by this lady who is in England. We are both completely rested souls.Jeff died drowning and I thought I hadf seen him a couple of weeks before at a gig but it wasnt him. I just want to say to everybody that my death was really my doing in a lot of ways and the same for baby buckley. This is the name that our guide has given him. Interestingly she is also my wife from a previous life and she is also Jeff's mother too from a life before. He and I want to thank Mary Guibert for putting together Sweetheart the Drunk. Thanks Mary. And Jeff says thanks to Merri for the new book but there were too many pictures when only one would have done. He hated the adulation.Jeff: Dad's presence now is everything to us and to those who read this be assured our music lives on in more ways in the future than you will know!

Although I am 50 and have Tim Hardin and Jim Croce albums from the 1960/70's I had never heard of Tim Buckley. I have just bought Robert Plant's latest album and after hearing Song of the Siren I am hooked. I shall hunt out as many original vinyl Lps as possible.Sue Jones
My sister and I were very inspired by Tim Buckley in the mid 60s in Venice and Santa Monica, where we lived. And his music continues to live within us to this day. Your website is great and brings back lots of lovely memories. Thank you for the trip and reminder. Wayne (and sister Linda)email: wayne...@cox.net

Hi there...I'm a singer/songwriter, and folks kept comparing me to this Tim Buckley guy..(I also sometimes heard Jeff Buckley from folks as well), but I had no clue as to who in the heck either of them were..However, somebody gave me a nice disc of Tim's, and I really enjoyed it..I've also listened to Jeff's stuff and found it very interesting. It's a pity that both left the world too soon..However, I'm grateful this site exists, because now I can learn some of the exquisite songs Tim wrote..What I find very cool is that Tim tuned his guitar down so low, which is what I've been doing for years..Perhaps that was the reason folks thought my stuff was similar ??? Anyways, thanks for a wonderful site, feel free to drop by mine sometime !!love and peace,Dylan Robertse-mail : dylan_r...@yahoo.comwebsite :

It would be great if you were to include some passages from Lee Underwood's book, Blue Melody: Tim Buckley Remembered. Lee knew Tim better than perhaps any other of his friends. He shows great insight into Tim's thinking and aesthetic development and into many of the people who surrounded him. Without Lee's input, we are saddled with a kind of glittery, superficial fanzine haze of misplaced idolatry that ignores the harsh realities of Tim's childhood, the commercial arena in which he found himself, the struggles he endured to become the extraordinary artist that he was, and the nature of that fickle beast, the so-called "fans" who cried out only for ego-reinforcement, not artistic evolution and all but hanged him when he demonstrated his loyalty to music instead of cheap adulation. Lee's Blue Melody gives Tim's story honestly and passionately, with enormous depth of insight, unbounded respect for the truth, and with profound love and respect for Tim the man and the artist. It would help this site immensely if you were to share some of the reviews that have appeared on Amazon.com and elsewhere, and included a few passages from the book equal in length to those you display from other works. Lee was there (as Tim's lead guitarist); he writes brilliantly; he may well be one of the few, if not the only one, who truly knew Tim well.

I am so happy that the internet provides me a way to reach out. I am looking to replace all my albums to C/D's but, of course, am having a hard time. I remember when Goodby and Hello was available (I was turned onto it in 1972) I bought copies for everyone and three for myself so that I could have an unscratched one. I used to by somtimes 20 albums a week and master disks.. My favorite artist and favorite album was Tim Buckley's. I had turned so many people onto him. We were just waiting to see the concert or so. I saw Bruce Springstein in Atlanta eating Filet Mignon and then at the Carter Barron in Washington, D.C. and always thought I would follow Tim. Boy.. was sad and down when Tim was gone. I only hope now to find the albums on C.D.'s. I still have my (large) collection. But haven't yet figured out how to get that to master disk. Sure the time will be soon to do that. Really enjoyed the site and the material. I've bought several Buckley CD's, and was hoping to Starsailor and Blue Afternoon. Any ideas of where these could be found? Thanks again for a great site.Ro...@aol.com
