hello everyone, ive got an hercules dj console mk4 which ive first started using it on my friends pc till i decided it was time to get virtualdj on my pc and therefore to get my console working on it. it worked brilliantly on his win 10 pc, on the other hand it seems it doesnt work at all on my pc. ive read dozens of troubleshoot, f.a.q.s. and topic around the web and everyone seem to agree its a system incompatibility, but i dont think so.
what happens is that once ive installed all the latest driver from hercules official site is that i get the "djherculesmix" icon tray with a red cross (which shouldnt be there i guess...) and i cant run it, all i can do is check for updates and at last for info.
what ive also noticed is that i dont get any audio driver when running the driver update, which i should, and also when i go to devices and printers i get the hercules icon with a yellow exclamation point.
can anyone help me? plzzz
if you double-click on the device with the yellow !, what error message is indicated ?Have you tried either or both of the following solutions:- Try using a shorter, well-shielded USB cable (a maximum of 3.3 feet/1 meter in length);- Try placing a powered USB hub (using and external power supply) between the console and the DJ controller.You may also want to refer to the following Knowledge base article for more details:

just bought a hercules dj console, but the disc that came with it only had the drivers for windows 98, me, 200o and xp and im running windows 7 32 bit.
checked online to find win 7 drivers, found a few and installed,
the installer thinks everything gets installed fine, but my computer cant find/install the drivers for the controller.
the asio, bulk and midi drivers work, and i can get audio to run through the device, but cant ge the control surface to work.

The control surface driver won't install, so the controller is really just a sound card at the moment,
The computer won't detect it as the console, only as a soundcard, so can't even get the included software to run.
If that makes sense?
when i say the surface doesn't work, i mean, it connects to the computer, everything flashes, then it gives up a few seconds later, i'm able to use it as a mouse, but not a controller.
During the installtion windows says "Device Driver Not Successfully Installed"
When i go to more info is says, Bulk, Midi, and Asio installed, but the it can't find the driver for the actual console.

Thanks, Managed to get the controller to work with Traktor, but had to teach it what each button did, but the computer still doesn't properly recognise the controller, everything seems to be installed, from what i can tell, but i can't run the VDJ software that it came with, and none of the lights work, they just flash when its plugged in, then turn off.
The USB controller (AMD USB 3.10 eXtensible) refuse to recognize and enumerate my Hercules DJ console MP3 e2 USB device.
With my old lenovo laptop (AMD A4 5000, USB3.0) the device works fine. Latest software and drivers.
I try with an old and new INTEL based laptop and this console works fine.

It seems that this "new" AMD chipset refuse to enumerate some old USB 2.0 device that not respect the USB 3.0 specification.
What the hell is this?
The USB 3.1 should be RETROCOMPATIBLE with USB 2.0 or not?
Why with INTEL chipset this Hercules products works fine? Also with new USB 3.1 chipset?
Why with my OLD AMD laptop (always with USB 3.0 controller) this Hercules works fine?
The console runs via USB and Ive previously plugged it into a USB hub. Since using El Capitan I haven't been able to use my console at all. I purchased a powered USB 3 hub but that makes no difference. The console just flashes on and off to suggest there's no contact.
I used djay and virtual dj, but neither works.
Have tried to troubleshooting it every which way (e.g. with usb power 2.0+3.0, reinstall latest driver, change usb chord) but no dice. Seems like its due to hercules latest drivers not being compatible. I wrote hercules this aft asking for support and/or info about drivers and can advise if/when they respond if you're still dealing with this.
However, you must always restart with the USB cable plugged in. If you unplug the cable, El Capitan loses the connection and plugging it back in does not work. It will not automatically see the connection if you simply unplug and replug. It will only work on restart, which is not ideal, of course. But, it's the best so far.
I tried the Insignia 2.0 powered USB hub from Best Buy and the Hercules flashed both sides, then only one side. Maybe another manufacturers USB will work, but I tried an older Staples one with the Insignia power cable, because they were both the same. Both the Insignia and Staples one didn't work. So, I'd go more for the USB 2.0 cable than hub.
This is not true. I updated to 10.11.4 and while it slightly fixed the issue, it did not fix it completely. In fact, I reinstalled the driver from Hercules and that broke it again after updating to 10.11.4. So, I would not update to 10.11.4 and then reinstall the Hercules driver, because that screws everything up again and you possibly have to reinstall 10.11.4 to fix again.
