Join us at 6:00 pm for a potluck,
discussion, and Havdalah service, where we will explore our different understandings of this event by answering such questions as--
  • What stories did you learn about Israel's War of Independence?
  • How and when did you learn about the Nakba, the violent displacement of 700,000 Palestinians?
  • Does your family tell stories about 1948?
  • How have you made sense out of this information?
  • How has your identity as a Jew, Christian, Muslim, or secular person been shaped by this understanding?
  • What is your vision of justice in Israel-Palestine?
