Chavurah annual picnic—Sunday Aug. 30, 1:00

 

End the summer in style with the Tikkun Olam Chavurah, at our annual potluck picnic on Sunday, Aug. 30, beginning at 1:00. Please join us at the home of Rabbi Linda Holtzman, 635 Westview Ave. in West Mt. Airy.

At the picnic we will be welcoming home our friends and fellow activists who are currently traveling through Israel/Palestine in a two-week interfaith delegation, a joint initiative of the Chavurah and the Germantown Mennonite Church.

The picnic will be our final public event during the Jewish year 5755. Next we will begin 5776 with our High Holiday celebrations. This year’s holidays will begin with a preliminary Selichot (repentance) service on Saturday, Sept. 5, 10:00 pm at Moving Arts of Mt. Airy; Rosh Hashonah (New Year) services will follow on the morning of Monday, Sept. 14 at the Germantown Mennonite Church.
