Calvary Center, 801 S. 48th Street

Moriel Rothman-Zecher is an Israeli-American writer, activist, poet and refusenik. He is involved with a number of nonviolent campaigns and groups working against the occupation, including All That's Left, a new anti-Occupation collective, and a grassroots group of Jerusalem activists who have been organizing together against the occupation since the Summer. In 2012, Moriel spent time in Israeli military prison for refusing to enlist in the Israeli army, and is still active supporting other refuseniks and conscientious objectors. His writings have been published in the New York Times, Sojourners Magazine, the Berkeley Journal of Sociology, Religion Dispatches, the Daily Beast and more. He is a regular contributor to +972 Magazine, and is the author of an independent blog, The Leftern Wall. He is on Twitter @Moriel_RZ. We look forward to learning from Moriel about the state of the Israeli left, the challenges present and routes people are choosing to work for change from the inside.

Kol Tzedek is hosting this program, which is sponsored by The Tikkun Olam  Chavurah and Jewish Voice for Peace.
