Interested in learning about Judaism? Whether or not you are Jewish, whether or not you are thinking of becoming Jewish, it is always exciting to learn about Jewish tradition, history, texts, and practices. This class will explore a range of Jewish beliefs and rituals for every aspect of life. The class will look at holidays, customs, and the many ways to be Jewish in today's world.
Explore many different views of God (Can you be Jewish and not believe in God?); Israel-Palestine (Can you be Jewish and not identify as a Zionist?); different ways to observe The Sabbath and holidays (Can you work on Saturday and still experience the Jewish Sabbath, Shabbat?), and so much more!
Taught by Rabbi Linda and other knowledgable and fascinating rabbis and teachers, the class will meet every other week from the start of November through the end of May. Some weeks, the class will be primarily classroom learning; some weeks will be more experiential including field trips to various synagogues and Jewish sites. Each student will meet every other month with Rabbi Linda to process the material learned individually and to face challenges that the material presents.
Join with Rabbi Linda for the initial class and be a part of determining the course's structure!
RSVP to Rabbi Linda if you are interested in the class, whether or not you are able to be in class on November 2 at
