Applications and nominations for the McCain Institute for International Leadership's 2018 Next Generation Leaders program are now open through February 15, 2019.

The McCain Institute’s Next Generation Leaders program is designed to identify, train, network and empower a diverse group of emerging, character-driven leaders from the United States and around the world. The program offers emerging global leaders a fully-paid year of targeted professional and personal leadership development.

Ideal candidates are mid-career professionals who are leaders in their respective fields and stand to contribute in even more significant roles in the futures of their societies.

The program runs from September 2019 – July 2020.

"Through the NGL program, I have been able to not only deepen my commitment to driving positive change in Kenya, but I have also learned to lead more effectively through trainings and networking with other leaders." -Dr. Karambu Ringera, 2015 Next Generation Leader, Kenya

Dr. Ringera is the founder and president of International Peace Initiatives, an NGO that aims to create models of sustainable development and peace in Kenya. In 2017, she received a Catalyst Grant to support her Leadership Action Plan to build citizen agency to impact policy in Kenya.
