Greetings from Pittsburg State University! 

 

The deadline for the Honors College Scholarship Program for undergraduates is fast approaching.

 

The primary mission of the Honors College at Pittsburg State University is to provide a more meaningful educational experience for select superior students. The Honors College has the goal of not only attracting high-quality applicants, but also of retaining them as high-achieving students until graduation. 

 

A total of 30 students are selected for the Honors College each year and they receive scholarships as well as the opportunity to participate in Honors programs. Honors College members are a carefully screened select group of scholars. 

 

Application Deadline: January 15, 2019

 

Who can apply? Students in their final year of High School. The Honors College is only open for incoming Freshmen students (students entering university for the first time directly following high school graduation) in the Fall (August) intake only. International students are encouraged to apply. 

 

Students must first apply for admission to the university and be admitted before apply for the Honors College Scholarship:  https://admission.pittstate.edu/international-admission-information.html

 

Admission Process: 

 

1. Complete the online application: https://admission.pittstate.edu/apply.html

2. Pay the $60 application fee

3. Submit:

    - School Transcripts (and English translation)

    - 68 TOEFL (15 section scores) or 6.0 IELTS (5.0 section scores) or 47 PTE Score

    - Bank Statement

    - Copy of Passport

 

Honors College Scholarship Application Process: 

Honors College Scholarship Requirements: 

  1. ACT composite score of 28 or higher OR SAT Critical Reading + Math score (CR+M) of 1310 or higher
  2. 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  3. Rank in the to 1/3 of high school graduating class
  4. 68 TOEFL Score

Honors College Scholarship Awards: 

 

Presidential Award 

$9,500 per year for four years plus a one-time Study Abroad Stipend up to $2,000

Total four-year package: $40,000

 

University Award

$4,500 per year for four years plus a one-time Study Abroad Stipend up to $2,000

Total four-year package: $20,000

 

Crimson and Gold Award

$1,000 per year for four years plus a one-time Study Abroad Stipend up to $2,000

Total four-year package: $6,000
