Please follow the appropriate link below to obtain the firmware download for your 8180 speaker. Note there are two hardware releases for this speaker. Choose the specific firmware download for the hardware release you own.
The Algo 8180G2 is a second generation 8180 PoE indoor wall mounted loud speaker, is SIP compliant, and designed for Voice over IP (VoIP) paging, IP loud ringing, and emergency/safety/security notification and alerting. The 8180G2 features a built-in amplifier, I/O relay, speaker output port, and line-level audio output and supports TLS, SRTP, SIP TCP, DNS SRV, and CDP/LLDP, and support for InformaCast (requires purchase of an InformaCast license; not included, sold separately). The Algo 8180G2 operates independently so no phone is required for loud ringer applications.
IP Paging (intercom) is configurable as one-way audio or duplex; two way audio via the built-in microphone. Web interface allows independent volume adjustment for paging, loud ringer and alerts. The 8180G2 registers as a third party SIP endpoint with all leading premise or hosted UC providers. Any number and combination of Algo SIP speakers, SIP paging adapters and SIP strobes can be used via built-in multicast for more comprehensive large scale enterprise or campus deployments. Zoned multicast paging via remote DTMF keypress selection. The Algo 8180G2 also supports RTP multicast, Polycom Group Page, and Syn-Apps SA Announce.
This device requires Power over Ethernet. If PoE is not available, use a PoE Injector. Does not support direct power connection - PoE ONLY. Ask your dealer about PoE if you need assistance understanding that technology or for 8180G2 technical support. See manufacturer's website for specifications, new features, and required firmware updates. Web-UI programming or supports provisioning. A basic understanding of computer networking and Voice over IP experience is highly recommended. Common application environments include: schools and classrooms, warehouse, utility plant, machine shop, garage, lunch room, etc and is suitable for most indoor installations. Includes one (1) year manufacturer's warranty.
Follow the steps below to upgrade your firmware. Note: This firmware is NOT supported on 8180 (G2) hardware. For 8180 (G2) devices, please follow this link for download details.
Please do not use Internet Explorer 9 for the upgrade.
Use the 8180 Web Interface Control Panel to reboot your device, go to System > Maintenance and select Reboot. Wait 30 to 60 seconds for the interface to reload. Download the files listed below to your PC, making sure to observe which ones are for the Kernel, and which ones are for the Firmware. Note: file names must remain unchanged.
SIP Gateway lets your organization use any compatible SIP device with Microsoft Teams to preserve your investments in SIP devices. Now you can sign-in to Teams with your corporate credentials and make and receive calls with a compatible SIP device. Compatible devices can be Skype for Business IP phones with standard SIP firmware, Cisco IP phones with multiplatform SIP firmware, or SIP devices from vendors such as Poly, Yealink, and AudioCodes. To find out how to configure your SIP devices for SIP Gateway, see Configure SIP Gateway.
For some devices, the minimum firmware version is greater than the approved firmware version. This is because the 3.X version is the Skype for Business version. We update the SIP version which is 2.X.
For support queries, customers using the Algo Solutions' SIP enabled endpoints listed with Teams SIP Gateway should reach out directly to Algo Solutions.General Information on Algo integration with TeamsConfiguration GuideTroubleshooting Guide
Emergency Calling - Emergency calling is supported from the Tango Extend eSIM and this uses the Teams number. Teams isn't notified of emergency calls made from the eSIM but will receive returned calls towards the Teams number.
Tango Extend Supported Features - Sign-in/out using Tango Extend Teams App with Teams policy sync, Make/receive calls with hold/resume and DTMF, dial-in to meeting, request to join, voicemail and MWI, Teams DND and Call Forwarding.
The 8180 is a SIP compliant wall mount indoor speaker designed for voice paging, loud ringing, and emergency/safety/security notification and alerting. The speaker is PoE and does not require an additional amplifier. Common application environments include: classroom, factory (e.g., OSHA), warehouse, utility plant, machine shop, garage, lunch room, kitchen, etc.
Algo's G2 8180 SIP audio alerter is the next generation of the original popular 8180, and Algo is keeping the same part#. The speaker has upgraded hardware capable of running the latest security and encryptions standards, including TLS & SRTP, ensuring secure communication with hosted SIP providers.
Designed to include all the features of the original 8180, the G2 release also includes a number of new features including enhanced multicast options, a relay input for using a button, and dedicated "Emergency Alert" extensions similar to other Algo SIP endpoints such as the 8186 horn speaker, 8188/8189 ceiling speakers and 8301 Paging Adatper.
Please Note: As Algo's G2 release now runs on a new hardware platform, note that the firmware files are different compared to the original 8180. An original 8180 can therefore not use the G2 firmware. For assistance migrating provisioning files for this new device, please contact Algo support.
All of the following existing hardware (obtained from a 3rd party, not Cloud Voice) can be used with Cloud Voice; we can supply a special firmware so that the hardware behaves exactly like hardware ordered directly from Cloud Voice. If you supply the serial number and the MAC address (printed on base) then we'll send a custom firmware for that device.
Note: "S" model supports full remote management via the Cloud Voice platform. Other models, such as "G" are also supported, but phone management is via the phone GUI or handset keypad/screen. All models auto provision and can be remotely rebooted.
Mobile app: The Cloud Voice service can also be integrated to most iPhone and Android mobile phones! Just download the app, sign in, and it's up and running on both WiFi and 3G/4G/5G roaming. See our simple guide here:
You can learn more about what kind of cookies we use, why, and how from our Privacy policy. If you hate cookies, or are just on a diet, you can disable them altogether too. Just note that the Freshdesk service is pretty big on some cookies (we love the choco-chip ones), and some portions of Freshdesk may not work properly if you disable cookies.
Add SIP devices to your Teams organization by configuring the above SIP Gateway provisioning server URL in your DHCP server. To learn more about DHCP server, see Deploy and manage DHCP. Also, you can use DHCP option 42 to specify the Network Time Protocol (NTP) server, and DHCP option 2 to specify the offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in seconds. The devices in your organization will be routed to the SIP Gateway provisioning server. Successfully provisioned SIP phones will display the Teams logo and a soft button for sign-in.
Ensure SIP devices are on the minimum supported firmware version for onboarding. During onboarding, SIP Gateway will push the default configuration and authentication user interface to the device. To find out the required firmware version for SIP devices, see Plan for SIP Gateway.
Conditional Access is an Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) feature that helps ensure that devices that access your Microsoft 365 resources are properly managed and secure. SIP devices are not managed by Intune hence conditional access checks applied to them are stricter than those applied to users. SIP Gateway authenticates SIP devices with Azure AD, so if your organization uses Conditional Access for devices in the corporate network, it should exclude the following SIP Gateway service IP addresses:
