I'm running the tigervnc server on RHEL7 (tigervnc-server-1.8.0-5.el7.x86_64) and connect to it with tigervnc-1.9.80 from a Windows 10 server.
I can copy/paste from Linux to Windows just fine.
When I try to copy/paste from Windows to Linux it seems to work once after I start vncviewer on my desktop and then it stops for hours. With a little bit luck it may work from time to time.
I tried with and without vncconfig, tried all options in vncviewer to send data or retrieve data from clipboard. I started vncserver with all options to send and retrieve the data from the clipbboard. Nothing helps.

Any idea on how to get this to work?

Thanks

I have also noticed some copy/paste problems on CentOS7 specialy when
opening 2 vncviewer clients to 2 different hosts running a vncserver.
Closing one session seams to solve the problem.

If it can help finding the bug.

I’m not running two clients. I have one vncviewer client and one server.

That setup should work fine. Do you think you could test with a 1.9.0
server? Or perhaps even a nightly build?

And could you test with a different client? It would help us determine
if the issue is with the client or server.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

I upgraded to the newest TigerVNC version Red Hat provides and it's still doing it. I have the same problem with another client like RealVNC. It's probably on the Red Hat side. I thought there's a parameter combination to fix this. If you say I did everything right then I can open a ticket with Red Hat.
I had it working in my old company but cannot get it to work anymore now. Not sure what I did differently there. It was also RHEL 7 and tigervnc, albeit an older version of tigervnc. But I tried all kind of old version and nothing worked.
