Had the latest version working just fine, but then all of the sudden
would get the password screen, and after entering it would fail the
authentication, but password didn't change and attempts to change
port or password would go thru, but then safe option would seem
to work, but going back would have them go back to the same.

Did finally get it work, but uninstalling the 64 bit version, and
goting back to the 32bit. That install went thru, and prompted for
me to set passwords and ports, and is now working.

Have no clue why it happened, or how that fixed it.

Old windows 7 machine my mom has. Was suppose to come with
Windows 8 update, but by time I got to moms, was told that
upgrade was only good for 30 days after purchase. So, no way to
upgrade it. Mom is 82, so not a big deal. I'd just install Linux on it,
which has none of the strange windows issue.

Just wondering if someone has a clue. Just interesting?

Mixing 32-bit and 64-bit can cause confusion like this. The two versions
store their settings in different places, so changing a setting in one
will not be respected by the other.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
