Following these instructions:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/html/system_administrators_guide/ch-TigerVNC#sec-starting-vncserver

Specifically, when I set:

systemctl enable vncserver@:display_number.service

.. the vncserver DOES start at system boot, but when I get into the Tiger VNC client, I see some other desktop - not GNOME or KDE.

When I don't have the systemctl start the vncserver, rather, I start is manually in ssh, via

vncserver

I now DO get the GNOME desktop

It the systemctl using the $HOME/,vnc/config file? I notice in there that there is

desktop=sandbox

I want to use systemctl to start vnc on system boot, AND have a desktop like GNOME or KDE. How is this done?

That is very weird. They should be starting the same way. There is a log
file in ~/.vnc. Could you compare it and see how it differs in the wtow
cases?

That merely controls the title of the session, not what's in it.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
