Hi all,

I have setup systemd tigervnc for all the users and only one user systemd service is not started and not active while it works for other users.

○ vncserver@:5.service - Remote desktop service (VNC)
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/vncserver@.service; disabled; preset: disabled)
     Active: inactive (dead)

I checked startup and config files all seems to be matching with the working users.
I moved away .vnc and re-established .vnc folder, and then the .log fiiles are not updated after that.

Can anyone suggest me here, what could be the issues for that user.

Thanks,
lsaga

Let's start with the basics. What do you get from:

sudo journalctl -u vncserver@:5.service

If you are running the latest TigerVNC, the log file might be in
~/.local/state/tigervnc instead.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

It looks like this user is messing up the $DISPLAY variable. This was
common on older setups, but won't work with modern defaults. They're
likely doing something like "DISPLAY=$HOSTNAME$DISPLAY" in their startup
scripts.

Hi,

Yes you are right I double checked with the user and they use the way because of some special programs . Is there a way to modify this ?

Thanks,
Lsaga

They should be able to get the old behaviour back by specifying
"listen=tcp" in the vncserver config.

Hi ,

Thanks for your response.

So, I should use listen=tcp in $HOME/.vnc/config of user’s home directory?
