Compiling on Windows

I am following the guide on Compiling TigerVNC for Windows but I think it is outdated.

I did use a recent commit (00dc3c0c8d14d2d281e9e273f78abe6d44ed537e) then the example in the guide.

I am getting the following error when I try the cmake:

CMake Error: Could not create named generator MinGW Makefiles

Generators
* Unix Makefiles = Generates standard UNIX makefiles.

Ninja = Generates build.ninja files.

Ninja Multi-Config = Generates build-<Config>.ninja files.

CodeBlocks - Ninja = Generates CodeBlocks project files.

CodeBlocks - Unix Makefiles = Generates CodeBlocks project files.

CodeLite - Ninja = Generates CodeLite project files.

CodeLite - Unix Makefiles = Generates CodeLite project files.

Eclipse CDT4 - Ninja = Generates Eclipse CDT 4.0 project files.

Eclipse CDT4 - Unix Makefiles = Generates Eclipse CDT 4.0 project files.

Kate - Ninja = Generates Kate project files.

Kate - Unix Makefiles = Generates Kate project files.

Sublime Text 2 - Ninja = Generates Sublime Text 2 project files.

Sublime Text 2 - Unix Makefiles = Generates Sublime Text 2 project files.

I also tried cmake -G "MSYS Makefiles" but that is not on the list.

Any ideas on fixing this? Or is there a alternative guide I should use?

It sounds like there is something broken in the build environment you
are using. Where did you get it? From msys2.org?

Correct, directly from the msys2.org website.

Hmmm... That's odd. We did a test build just the other day and had no
issues.

Would you mind giving the exact steps you took to install and start
msys, as well as prepare the TigerVNC build?

Samuel, could you please compare with what you did once that is in place?
