I am trying to manage a Windows 10 machine that serves as the NAS on my local network with TigerVNC.

When I attempt to configure the TigerVNC Server on the Windows 10 machine using "vncconfig.exe", I have the option on the Security tab to configure Standard VNC Authentication:

- I click the Configure button and then specify a password. Then I Apply the change and click OK
- I then restart the TigerVNC Server Windows Service in order for it to pick up the new configuration

The vncviewer connects just fine to the Windows 10 machine and asks for the password. But all I get in response is the message "No password configured for VNC Auth".

What am I missing in order to configure the TigerVNC Server properly on a Windows 10 machine so that I may login with vncviewer?

I think that starting vncconfig manually makes it configure "user mode".
If you server is running in "service mode", then you need to right click
the tray icon and select configure from that.

At least that how I think it's supposed to work. :)

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
